none of the 4 bolts were coming out of my 2009 silverado. I finnaly got so
angry I just ripped it right off with just brutte force. luckily one of the
bolts with the inside came right off and the rest i still have to follow
your directions to take off the remaining inner bolt housing :)

I just put one on my 2008 GMC. The holes were there. You might just need to
pull your old topper off and verify the holes (I’m pretty sure they will be
there). If not, all you will have to do is put the spoiler on, mark hole
locations, drill them out and buy the riv-nuts and screws to bolt it on.
Took me about 20 minutes to install my spoiler.

Do you happen to know how the stud inserts are attached to the truck? I
have a 2008 GMC and I want to add the spoiler cover to the tailgate. I
bought the spoiler, screws and inserts, but cannot for the life of me,
figure out how to attach the inserts to the tailgate. Any help you can
offer would be greatly appreciated.

Will one of these newer caps fit an 03 Silverado?

Kimishibai100 says:

I found it. The inserts are actually riv-nuts. There are lots of videos on
Youtube to show how riv-nuts work. Pretty slick.
