Thanks for the video! Made it a breeze!

1A Auto Parts says:

If there is one they’re usually on the ball joint on the pitman arm. Not
all vehicles will have grease fittings. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

This is kinda of a stupid question but where is the grease fitting I’ve
never used a grease gun before.. Thanks!

I was just about to tackle that job on my 96 Mazda B 3000 and video is
gonna be very handy, 1A auto rock!

I’m looking at purchasing a 2000 Chevy ‘Burban which has bad Pitman and
idler arms, plus a power steering leak. Does this exercise(both part1 and
part2) work on that model year as well?

stihlman44 says:

when you do this do you have to take out the steering box? and if you do
does all the power steering fluid come out?

kenman1717 says:

great video. but one thing i didn’t hear you mention. when you were
finished you didn’t say to get an alignment. its not always needed, but
from any pitman arms i’ve done and alot that i’ve seen, that when the job
is done the steering is off to the right, not a full turn or anything, but
maybe 45 degrees off center. probably to some this is not a big deal, they
don’t want to spend the money, but others i know it annoys the hell out of
them if they’re going straight down the road.

Kraziken0 says:

Any clues to how stout of an air compressor and impact to do this job? I’m
on the back half of this install (assembly) and my impact isn’t driving the
pitman arm down into the steering box. I think my comnpressor is not up to
the task (should be 135psi, but it is only holding 100psi)

1A Auto Parts says:

@stihlman44 You don’t have to remove the box in some vehicles. If you do
remove the box you have to disconnect the lines and you are going to lose
some fluid.

Thanks fr the great video guys! I have a 97 Yukon that I took today for an
alignment. They told me my Pitman arm was in “rough shape” and they
couldn’t do a proper alignment. The only reason I wanted alignment done was
because I just put on new tires and struts the day before, not because I
was having any issues. I had them do it anyhow and now when I break it
pulls hard to the right. I had zero issue like this before they did the
“computerized alignment”. Any thoughts?

PVPlaya1392 says:

Hi! I just had one of your pitman arms installed after my old one went bad.
The old one was actually only 2 months old and made a popping noise for
awhile. After about a month of popping when turning to the left, it
stopped, and I tried to get an alignment, but they said I needed a new one
and ball joints. So, I installed yours today, and it also makes the popping
noise when I turn to the left. I trust your parts very much, so I doubt
that it is the arm itself. Any ideas what it could be?

1A Auto Parts says:

@PVPlaya1392 I would check the inner and outer tie rods as well as the ball
joints. You might want to have someone move the steering wheel from side to
side while you stand outside the vehicle, to see where the noise might be
coming from.

1A Auto Parts says:

It might be a similar process, but might not be exactly the same procedure.

@PVPlaya1392 Check the a-arm bushings on the upper a-arms.
