This week we installed a locking tailgate handle on our 2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD. The tailgate handle we used is a General Motors locking tailgate handle and was overall pretty easy to install with total time of about 10 minutes. We will show you how to install this system on this truck. We work to bring you tutorials, project plans, and project costs “giving you the tools to do it yourself”. Oh great! Even With the crappy lighting I can see where he chipped the paint levering the screwdrivers behind the panel!
Chris, I have a lock that looks just like this except that it has the camera in the handle. With that exception everything else looks the same. The lock has the same bent metal piece that I believe is supposed to go into the square opening that is on the latch. I did all that but when I turn the key the metal piece hits inside the square opening and will not rotate all the way. Is that bent piece supposed to go somewhere else and prevent the latch from opening.
