2015 GMC YUKON XL HOW TO REPLACE FRONT BRAKE PADS & ROTORS – EASY DIY

The Brake Pads and Rotors used in the video were purchased locally, but here’s a few links to some of the parts you would need to do this job:

Just a quick video showing how I replaced the front brake pads & rotors on a 2015 GMC Yukon XL 4×4. (Same as Chevy Suburban) The rotors were very shiny and glazed from overheating and the brake pads were cracked. This would be the same for many GMC and Chevrolet vehicles.

The Torque specs I found online:
Caliper bracket bolt 129 ft lbs
Caliper Slide Pin bolt 80 ft lbs

Tools needed:
Large Flathead Screwdriver or Small Narrow Pry Bar
18mm socket and / or wrench
T-30 Torx Bit
19mm socket and or wrench
breaker bar or long handle wrench
Sil-glyde or other brake grease
C-clamp or Caliper Compression tool
Wire Brush
Brake Cleaner
Yellow Threadlocker (I didn’t show this in the video, but it could be cleaned off and re-applied to the caliper bracket bolts if needed).

Thanks for watching!

This is similar to another video I made on a 2014 Chevy Tahoe 4wd. Here’s the link in case I missed something on this one:
