I’ve been struggling trying to find my speaker audio cords/cables that plug
into the back of my stereo???? Please help its irritating and I need music!
How do you remove the one piece at 9min in the video
I posted the links in the video description above. Or simply go to Amazon
and search 91 chevy stereo dash kits and it will pop up with what you
need…
And since it was a gift from him in his last months with us, I cherish it
more even though it wasn’t really “in the family” for more than about a
year or so. But, my 2 year old loves going out and just hanging in the
truck and riding with me in it so it makes it even more of a keepsake.
Thanks for the compliments on the install. I was thinking that box was
something like that. Makes sense now. I need to post a final update on the
truck. I’ve completed all the interior trim now…
I wasn’t calling the truck junk in the sense that I’m ungrateful, the
backstory is that my grandpa got it from a neighbor as a result of said
neighbor being unable to pay back my grandpa a $800 loan. So, the truck was
exchanged. The neighbor that owned it was a hoarder & really trashed
anything an everything they possessed. This truck was no different. So, my
grandpa new it was a POS, but he said if I wanted to deal with it, it was
all mine. Now it’s running like a champ after a lil TLC.
Great video
Dont call the truck junk. It was your grandfathers. Now he gave it to you.
That meas alot dont you think. Good job on the install. That box that you
removed is an amp.
Very good video very helpful
do you have any links for the dash kit and radio pocket?
I wouldn’t cut the connectors off of the factory wiring. It’s possible to
rewire to your harness from your stereo, but it’s a pain in the ass &
you’ll hate yourself for doing it. I suggest getting the adapter harness
for the vehicle. In essence, it’s a “pigtail” between your factory harness
& your new head unit. If you get that vehicle adapter wiring harness,
you’ll have to wire it to your head unit harness (loose ends). It’s much
easier soldering/crimping onto a harness that is removable.
Unbolted***
LOL right! But yea, I re-wired everything got it fixed and yea, I’ve got 3
15’s in my truck now. Getting a bed cover so I can put more in the bed of
the truck! LOL
Glad to hear you got it fixed. MAN! 3 15’s! That shit cray cray! LOL
No problem. Hope it helped. I’m going to post a video of my completed
interior and sub/amp review. Stay tuned for that. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for making this video, I’m going to be doing an install on a 93
single cab with the same interior gray soon!
Man, that blows! It’s never fun re-wiring. Good luck with everything. I’m
going to post another video showing my complete set up…(Pioneer GM-D9601
2ch Amp & Rockford Fosgate P3 12″ Shallow Mount Sub) It’s kinda much for
this old truck, but I’m kind of a subwoofer fanatic. I don’t own a vehicle
without a subwoofer (and I have 4 vehicles total) LOL Gotta bump!
So, what you’re saying is you have an aftermarket stereo that you’re trying
to install? Have you removed the module/box that the original stereo
harness plugged into? See what I’m talking about at 4:00 of this video.
Once removed, there will be 3 more plugs on the back side of that box.
Unplug those from the module and those 3 will plug into the new wire
harness adapter. Let me know if that makes sense.
Yea. I took everything off. The guy I bought it from spliced all the wires.
And I’m guessing the constant touched another bare wire and shorted out. So
now I have to run new wires. And thanks what you said does make a lot of
sence.
Idk where my stock harness is.. I got one but idk where it plugs into. Help?
