This video shows how to replace the coolant return pipe, thermostats, upper radiator hose, and coolant tube for turbo on the 01-10 Chevy/GMC 6.6 Duramax Diesel. This was done on a 2005 lly duramax but will be the same procedure for the lb7, lbz, and lmm engines just different part numbers. Parts were purchased from PPE and Amazon I will provide links below.

Just a suggestion, rather than trying to use locking pliers on production style spring hose clamps I get nice results for my German made Knipex hose clamp pliers with lever lock (8551250AFBSA). This specialty tool allows you to spread the clamp more to move it out of the way and it holds on to the clamp without suddenly letting go and possibly injuring your fingers.
Nice job! Man I would have been so pissed with that new coolant pipe.
