Wow thanks man! great job

Bass River says:

it works thank you

Viper Jay 5 says:

Does anyone know exactly why GM made two different models of this radio?
I’ve heard that you have to get the exact one for your vehicle otherwise it
will not work, even if the radio looks the same. Anyone know what’s
different about them and what makes them not interchangeable? I have a 2005
Chevy Impala and my radio comes without the RDS logo on the display but
others display the RDS logo. Is that also a clue indicating that the ones
with the RDS logo are the older ones and the ones without are the newer
ones?

Jay Rodman says:

This process worked. The board looked different on my radio but it still
worked. I removed the chip with the numbers “9355093” on it. Cons: radio
does not hold the programmed stations. When vehicle is turned back on,
radio defaults to preset fm station.
So far it’s not an issue but have to select which CD to play after each
vehicle start-up.

johnny Mireles says:

I have a gm radio that came out of a 2003 tahoe and its lock but it looks
way diferent to the ones you are showing here mine has the 6 cd changer
…. Can you help me on that one please?

egietz says:

Thank you so much this worked perfectly!!

roscoepecoletrain says:

Well I got tired of waiting for an answer so I did the mod took about 2 min
total start to finish and “IT’S ALIVE” everything works as it should
programmed my remote. The radio was out of a 01 Malibu put it in a 02 Impala
.Does not keep pre-sets small price to pay to diy without giving the
Stealership money. Thanks for the info was about to have to spend some money
and I hate that.

Zac Reddington says:

Question. Once you take the chip out can you put it back in or do you have
to buy a new one?

Durango nuevo says:

thanks!! just did mine so happy thanks!!!!!!!

Brandon M says:

Good Stuff! Your video helped me prove that my problem is not the radio.
It’s the speakers. I actually pulled my current radio out and put in a
junkyard radio, bypassed the vehicle network by not activating it and the
junkyard radio worked proving to me that it wasn’t the radio, it is the
speakers. Look me up if you need vehicle diagnostic tools.

April Bevers says:

Works GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Geedunker says:

I’m curious about something. After the chip is removed, can you still use
the radio to customize the settings for stuff like the Oil Life Monitor,
Automatic Door Locks, Tire Pressure Monitor and all the other settings that
GM tied to the factory radio?

Casey Perleberg says:

This actually works!! Bought a radio out of a 07 silverado removed the chip

Orchestra Christmas cd…..Thanks again for taking the time.

Kayla Sackett says:

The chips in the radio were side by side instead on one behind the other. I
removed the chip that was all black and when i plugged the radio in it will
not work. It is a 2002 Chevy Cavalier and it is like the radio that it on
the counter that is working with the type player.

7779jesse says:

Can you still reprogram the remote key fobs for the car with this mod?

mike pete says:

any ideas

roscoepecoletrain says:

Can someone please confirm or deny the ability to program key fobs and
other settings like oil life ect. Thanks

jphauto says:

Works great! It took 2 minutes! Thanks!

fiktion91 says:

appreciate if you could help me out thanks

Jose Valdivia says:

I seem to have a similar radio but the board is different.seems to have
same parts but in diffrent place.can u help thanks

Daniel Marcum says:

This is great advice and it worked great with the adverse effects. Most of
them were no problem, but mine would always go back to track one on the cd
everytime you shut the key to the off position. So some memory is forgotten
by taking out the chip. There is another option that I found by accident
scrolling youtube for other suggestions. My main proble was that the face
plate lights were mostly burnt out and the cd player did not work. I
purchased another radio from a junk yard which I unlocked by taking out the
chip. Heres the best part! Once I discovered that the cd player worked in
the new radio, I then switched out the cd player and the face plate. Guess
what? Now I have a new working factory cd player with no issues! There are
videos on how to take the face plate and cd player out, very simple.

pr1moispfat says:

Will this affect programming of key fobs?

njcamacho says:

is unlocked and works.. thanks again

AK47SUP3R says:

Hi i would really appreciate it if you answer this,i got the same stereo
and it works when switch is on, but when i turn the car on it locks itself
and the red dot lights up and to unlock it i have to unplug it but again it
wotks when switch is on and when i turn on the car, it locks again. You
know what to do. Thankss

ruralboy1 says:

I just followed your technique for a used radio I put in my Silverado,
worked great! No loss of preset memory. THANKS!! This is what the internet
was invented for, sharing information. I LOVE IT!

Zero6485 says:

great video, do you have any more info on the digital on signal adapter?

jobdaniel says:

Hey thank you for the video! Just need to know if i have to do the changes
you did with your cables to be able to make it work in my truck?

samyjr says:

Hi I have a chevy Radio cassett and cd, and I remove the chip and mark me
ERROR , my question is that I needed to work well, is for gmc envoy 2004.
thanks.

kevin milton says:

your stereo locks. you need to remove the chip he talks about, or take it
to the dealer and have it unlocked unless you have the unlock code

Pan Gramercy says:

You shouldn’t need too in vehicle as the computer in the car is still
providing the radio the “On” signal. The wire trick I use, is to turn the
radio on, outside of the car like in the video, or in other types of
vehicles that this radio can, and does fit in that do not provide the “on”
signal. Not to sound confusing and all.

adventureoflinkmk2 says:
