The Bartlett’s MX says:

So since this is preloading your lifters and rocker arms, during a cam install while you have the wood dowels in to prevent the lifters from touching the camshaft so you can remove it would you leave those in while preloading or do you preload after your timing cover and all of that is reconnected? I’m just confused because I’m doing a cam swap and replacing the lifters while I’m at it. So at what point would be best to swap the lifters out I guess

Thank you so much for posting! I just tore my 5.3l down to replace stuck lifters, and your video helped so much in putting it all back together (the RIGHT way). I was ready to just slap the rocker arms back on, but felt something was missing – then found your video. Not only did I do it right, but have a much clearer understanding of what's all going on. Thanks !!!!

I did the 1357 intake first and exhaust last and 8642 intake first exhaust last.
Would I have to put cylinder 1 back on top dead center before I start it?
