yes is this same way for the rear as well, by checking the wheel for play, I have some play in the back wheels, but somebody told me there would be a small amount of play because of the different rotors in the rear? not drums.

Thanks for the video, guys! Definitely helpful for me to view it before we tackle a wheel bearing and hub replacement.

Shawn Connery says:

What brands of hubs do you recommend ? Is Duralast good or bad?

evlblkwpnz says:

I just bought an ’01 Suburban and notice a barely audible roar coming from the front at low speeds. I was wondering if the front diff had issues, but your commentary on the symptom of the sound changing when the wheel is turned makes me think the hubs may need to be replaced. The truck has 205k miles on it and I expected to throw a little money at it along the way. Many thanks for the how-to on this. I figure I’ll replace both sides and be done with it. Off to find some quality hubs….

Will this work on a 1993 Lesabre Limited?

TheAlmightyWiggy says:

The torque depends on the vehicle, I torqued my cavalier to 144 ft/lbs, as specified but it may be different for heavier vehicles.

Apatheism1 says:

this is way better than the other tards trying to explain this. thanks bro

This repair is the solution to my 05 silverado going into ABS mode at slow speeds just prior to stopping. Wheel speed sensor is part of this hub and requires hub replacement. Thanks for this video. Repair was quoted at 1400 at Chev dealer! Thanks for the help. Only question was, although you show use of torque wrench, forgot to mention ft/lbs used for the nut?

Trent Dickson says:

Thats a pretty sexy truck your working on.

forddiesel3241 says:

how much should i torque my axle nut once i get new wheel bearing on?-04 chevy 2500
thanks

autohowtovideos says:

if you can’t tell by just the noise alone get the car on stands and try and move the wheel and check for play in the bearing. Willie B shows this in the first minute of the video.

spelunkerd says:

At 5:13, good for you to add a little humour. My biggest problem is to decide which wheel is causing the noise. Any tips for diagnosis?

Joseph Upali says:

Thank you very much for all of your videos, because I drive a gmc sierra (2007)

tjivy says:

First, excellent video. I didn’t even have to get out the shop manual. Mine is a 2000 Suburban 4X4 and the procedure was the same. It just has 6 lug nuts and 3 flange bolts. I used a 36mm axle socket an torqued it to 177ft/lbs. That seemed to be the most recommend.

autohowtovideos says:

awesome! that’s great to hear.
