Wow. I can’t believe they waste all of that space for a couple of cheap
things. I would definitely go aftermarket if my Suburban were an ’03 or
newer, with the double din.

Howard Rapaport says:

Great video, thanks. Any idea where to find a replacement cd player?

Jack FnTwist says:

If only your camera focused better, your videos would be perfect 🙂

Edmund Mendez says:

Thanks so much for this video. I get a lot of resistance when I try to
insert a CD in.. Any suggestions on what could be the problem?

Jennies Garage says:

It sounds like the motorized roller that pulls in the cd isn’t turning.
Depending on the model, the drive gears or gear carrier housing can break,
or the gear on the end of the roller can crack and start slipping.

I have a 03 Yukon and a spare 04 Chevy stereo switched out the CD player
but my buttons are all fade do you know if I can switch the face plate from
an 04 Chevy to a 03gmc only difference is mine says RDS and has Bose system
no sub

4200cg says:

Do you think I can switch the whole face plate on the stereo my buttons are
faded and I have a spare stereo from a other Chevy I don’t want it to lock
though

Jennies Garage says:

Hi! If the plugs are the same, it should work. The theftlock information is
on the main circuit board, so a new faceplate should be fine. Thanks!

Hi, I have this exact radio and tried to remove eprom chip but still doesnt
work. Only clock goes on when I put display. The only 8 pin chip I could
see is just to the left of center when looking at botttom of unit with
faceplate towards me. Is that correct one? I applied power to B1 and B2 and
ground to A12 but still does not work. What am I doing wrong??? Thanks for
your help!

Jennies Garage says:

Hi, I think if the plugs are the same, it should work. I’ve never tried
switching faceplates, though. Thanks!

Jennies Garage says:

Some of the GM radios still won’t unlock, even when you de solder the
eeprom. Try grounding to the chassis of the radio.

Jennies Garage says:

power pins b1 and b2 ground to the frame of the radio.

Jennies Garage says:

24 pin harness and do you need to use any of the pins in the other harness?
