Hi Patrick, Check out our website 1aauto.com for your application. Not sure on the particular year for your Grand Prix, but we do carry replacement wheel bearing hubs and also replacement ABS wires for many different vehicles, it just depends if they are serviceable on your application. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Patrick Collins says:

I had my hub assembly replaced about a year ago by a local mechanic. Recently the abs light came on. I had to change th brakes so I figured I would have a look. It looks like the ABS sensor wires are cut about 2 inches from the sensor clip. Can I rewire them or do I need to replace the entire hub assembly again?
Thanks

Man* excuse me

Nhu-Y Van says:

Mam thank you i just love your videos, subbed

1aauto says:

For the wheel bearing only, you wouldn’t need to get an alignment.

Mooreman50J says:

Do you have to get the vehicle re-aligned afterwards?

1aauto says:

I would go with what the GM service manual said for the torque ratings.

Ron Chin says:

Great video. I have a 2004 Grand Am. Are the bolt torque spec 60 ft lbs and axle nut 85 ft lbs? GM service told me 70 ft lbs for the 3 bolts and 116 ft lbs for the axle nut for a 2004 Grand Am. Hope you can confirm. Thanks.

1aauto says:

It could be the other side. Usually if one goes bad the other one’s not to far behind it. We carry them on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393 All of our parts also have free shipping on them in the lower 48 states.

Hi on my 1999 Dodge Dakota my left side is howling almost sound’s like a wheel bearing. We had the right wheel bearing fixed awhile back. Is it possible it’s a wheel bearing on the left side

Thanks for this video series – you helped me save a couple of hundred bucks. I’m an old guy, don’t do auto work much any more. This made me realize that even a geezer can do this type of repair! Thanks again!

1aauto says:

We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows this particular repair. We do carry the replacement wheel bearings for your 2008 Toyota Tacoma on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

dlfppa says:

I need to replace a hub/wheel bearing on my Tacoma 2008, do you have any videos for toyotas? or know where I can find a video on this? Thanks

1aauto says:

If it’s stuck on there really badly you may need something like a 3LB sledge hammer to break it free. Just wear safety glasses, and make sure that everything that’s holding the rotor in place has been removed.

The New Trail Blaze says:

Could you replace a wheel bearing hub like this when the rotor is still on it? I have a saturn ion (a gm car also) with a stuck rotor. I’ve tried everything to get the rotor off…(hammer, heat) the rotor should just slide off but it doesn’t. The car needs a new wheel bearing, just trying to get some advice before I get any parts or anything. Thanks!

1aauto says:

On a 2001-2007 Chevy Impala the hub axle nut should be torqued to 118 FT LBS. Hope this helps you out.

1aauto says:

Thanks for checking us out. Have a great weekend!

Pj311foo says:

First you helped me with the power window motor for this car and now you helped me with the wheel bearing for it. Thank you sir 🙂

sparavola says:

Great video! I probably wouldn’t have tackled this job without having watched this first. Thanks for posting this!

sparavola says:

Yes, this will resolve your ABS and Traction warning lighs problem. Both systems depend on the ABS sensor which measures wheel speed. Also, you may have noticed that your power steering requires more effort at lower speeds. Replacing your wheel hub and bad sensor will also magically fix your power steering as well!

1aauto says:

Yes it looks as though the wheels bearings would need to be pressed into your hub.

1aauto says:

It should be 75-85 ft LBS

CoolioAlert says:

Isn’t the main hub nut supposed to be torqued to 280 ft lbs?

Josh Winters says:

i was told i had to get my new bearing pressed into the new hub and then get the spindle pressed into the hub then i can put it on. is this true. i have an 02 infiniti g20

1aauto says:

You may want to have the code scanned to see what it point to for an error.

Joey Bender says:

Is this what I have to do if on my dash the Traction Control light is on and the Anti-Lock light is on? Will this turn those lights off?

1aauto says:

We currently do not have a video of that shows you how to do this. If you have a Chiltons or a Haynes manual they should show you how to do this.

UFOGHOSTHUNTER says:

do you have how to take off the cv joint/half shaft off this grand am?

1aauto says:

We currently do not have an auto repair video on this particular vehicle. You should be able to find the torque specs for the hub in either a Haynes or a service manual.

Duncan McLaurin says:

Where can I get the torque specifications for a 2004 Kia Rio?

justin krohn says:

Not sure if you will see this message but for others out there, my problems with 2003-2004 Alero have included just the sensor going bad in the hub. To figure out which one is bad, it is a pain to get at but unplug the ABS sensor and stick a 1k ohm (1/4 watt is fine) resistor and turn the car on to see if the lights go out. If they do you know that one is bad. This assumes only one hub sensor is bad

mikosaaol says:

great instruction video, yours are the best

kenman1717 says:

i usually do, and most people i know do, but if you have ever read GMs instructions they tell you to replace them, although i don’t think its a big deal if everything is torqued right. i work at a dealer so i have access to that info, but i guess a regular person doing it in there driveway wouldn’t.

1aauto says:

You can reuse the old bolts if you would like.
