Thanks so much . Lost my trunk key for my 65 GTO . I had a new trunk lock & key . Rather than call a locksmith , knew somebody on you tube would know . Saved me time and money . Hell , if they can do it . I can do it . Thanks again !

Where did you get tail panel from ? Monte Carlo 1970-1972 nowhere found. Help

I need that little strew. Is it a self tap?

A trick I use for the truck lock clip is to place a screwdriver inside of the round hole after the lock is in and torque it to the back. If you use a hammer to bang on the clip you may hit the trunk lid.

Can you do a video on how you put the torsions rods to hold the trunk up?…. great video btw

Paris The Car Guy says:

How do you get the trunk to stay up? Mines won't do it.

Great job I have and working on a71442 and it did have a gasket .

southernfriedhippie says:

The trunk lock did have a gasket. It was clear(ish) plastic and not visable when installed. Without it you get water in the trailing edge of the trunk lid and rust. Originals crumbled usually the first time the lock was removed.Glad they make bolt kits nowdays. Cleaning hardware took forever. Used to hate that.
