Hello Richard, thanks for the cool video. However I have an Eaton style
M62 Blower, it looks similar as urs but the hole is on the side, how do I
know where to fill up? Also, what happens if you over fill the blower?
What happens if you under-fill the blower? Please advise thanks.

Woody Tefft says:

Thanks for a cool video DIY
It appears as though the filler hole would be as easy to access, with the
engine cover on, as well as off.
Any particular reason for removing it?
Also, instead of using needlenose pliers to prevent losing the filler screw,
try a magnetic pickup tool so keep it secure.

Great video

jonathan R says:

When should I change the oil after how many miles

Bob M. Tyranny Destroyer says:

This is the best way no doubt!!!! Good video!

Cottonwood121 says:

Awesome video, man! Gonna try this for the first time on a friends 03 GTP
this weekend. Your vid makes it look like it’ll be a cake-walk. Thanks a
lot!!

Richard Crocker says:

it should be fine, theres many people who are totally unaware of the need
to change that oil and go over 100,000 miles without changing it. it just
increases the wear and shortens the overall life of the supercharger if you
wait too long.

outdoorsman310 says:

stupid engine covers!

cellphonecraze says:

I have a 2001 Buick Regal GS with the same engine, if I just changed the
Supercharger oil at 52,000 miles for the first time, have I done serious
damage by waiting too long?

Richard Crocker says:

this is a general service oil change just like changing the oil on a car or
changing transmission fluid, you dont drop the transmission and engine
every time you want to change their fluids. IF you do in fact have stuff
built up in the bottom of your supercharger then sure remove it, but if you
keep your oil changed properly there shouldnt be any problem

Richard Crocker says:

@honchoryanc SHOULD be the same or similar, but there is probably something
about it in a repair guide for your car if not. just look for the same
screw we talk about and show you in the video.

@ashleyshereforyou Supercharger Oil GM Part No. 12345982.

Richard Crocker says:

@MrShoopthewoop short answer.. they make a kit to convert a gt to a gtp,
there are some differences between them besides just the supercharger.
having said that there are options too.. ill message you a longer answer
with some details.. a buddy of mine had a gt that he wanted to beef up to
be fast as hell

retroelectrical says:

Thanks for the video. It was the simplest thing I’ve ever fixed on the
Impala, and I’ve fixed a lot of thing on that car! The used supercharger
oil smelled like popcorn cheese concentrate. 🙂 Really am amazed at how
much better the supercharger runs now. Too bad most oil change places don’t
offer this service; they’ll change just about everything else but the
supercharger oil.

SteveXnycperformance says:

Remove the oil was a ease, yes. BUT ,How do you remove all the Mallory that
sit at the bottom of the s/c oil case. When the new oil is place into the
contaminated compartment, the rotor gear will wipe up(mix) all the settle
Mallory into the new oil. the new oil will become contaminated instantly.
so why do you perform this service? to waste money and time?. removing the
s/c and its snout will expose solids of Mallory embed itself in to the
casting cavities, clean with Brake Cleaner, and repair.

RYNORICHIE1 says:

IDK either they need to get there shit together…

NicoTheBarber says:

I have the same super charged motor and have not changed the oil for it…
Currently has 125000 miles on it…. Would the cone have a rattle from that
?

Richard Crocker says:

ah wait yeah i forgot the 06 gt did start having a supercharger as gm
decided to make the gt faster and make the gxp the fastest one using a v8..
it uses a eaton supercharger as well so the technique should be the same

Ryan Thornton says:

If anyone wants to save some money, ZZ Performance sells the oil as well.
It’s a 6oz bottle so you only need 1.

Richard Crocker says:

yeah i actually took some old oil with me one time and tricked some friends
into taking a pretty good whif of the oil and they all almost threw up each
time lol

RYNORICHIE1 says:

Just asked GM of Sacramento and they said never fill it to the edge of the
hole, thats way too much…Factory they came with 5 oz in it why put 7oz?

TWCMH51802 says:

@clayboob1 book says every 25 thousand miles

Richard Crocker says:

just google zzp performance and check their forums and faq section, they
answer MOST questions you might have there, or you can call them, they
arent the best for pcm’s and a couple other things but they do a lot of
good work for the most part, ive known a number of people who got their
buildup done by them and everything has been powerful, reliable and pretty
damn good

Jeff West says:

Good video. Im changing mine tomorrow in my monte ss.

gtp1416 says:

is this the same way to change on a 2006 gt super charger?

MrDirectorjay says:

HE SAID COCK AND NUT

Evan Yoder says:

@TSGoofy I’ve already replaced both my wheel bearings. I think it might be
my Rack and Pinion.

Richard Crocker says:

@Cottonwood121 no problem… when i was trying to find out myself i
searched and searched and had trouble finding anything that was real
specific, but its actually really simple. when i figured out just how easy
it was i was like… wtf… thats it? lol

Richard Crocker says:

@evan4607 im not 100% positive on this but i havent heard of that causing
any problems. i suggest posting it on a forum in the meantime but ill ask a
friend of mine who works on these cars all the time for you and get back to
you.

Richard Crocker says:

glad to help.. hope to see some videos of your gtp soon… hit me up when
you post some

Greg Gilbertson says:

This was the first oil change for my supercharger. After 135,000 miles it
looked like slightly dirty motor oil.

john goodman says:

how often are you suppose to change the oil in the supercharger??

giantAsFan says:

Hey I have a 2000 Pontiac bonneville & I need to change the spark plugs but
I CANNOT ACCESS THE REAR SPARKPLUGS/WIRE DUE TO LACK OF ROOM CAN YOU PLEASE
GIVE ME ANY TIPS ON REMOVING THE REAR PLUS/wires

Shawn Doe says:

since when is a spray bottle 3 dollars at a dollar store? fuck you asshole

WookieOrgasm says:

I got a question, can I put this supercharger on my 97 v6 3800 II camaro?
Because I got a friend willing to give me his.

Richard Crocker says:

@RYNORICHIE1 idk man im not gonna argue it, everyone here is hearing
different things from the gm dealers, i guess theres no set standard to it,
i just heard it being done this way from the most people and from the local
gm dealer… i guess just do whatever suits ya best or whatever opinion
makes most sense to you since they dont seem to have a standard..lol why
the hell cant they just give us all a straight answer from ALL the techs at
different places. we should all be told the same thing

Evan Yoder says:

@dunlop64 well I haven’t had a problem so far, but the car is a nightmare!!
Pretty much everything has to be replaced except the engine other than the
gaskets. Now I’m having a problem with my ABS or at least I think its the
ABS, sometimes when I start the car the ABS light will come on and the
steering gets really hard. But when I turn the car off and back on the ABS
light is off and steering is back to normal. Don’t have a clue what it
could be.
