Your totally right, gm and other brands don't put in a drsin plug.. Anytime I service a trans , I install a new pan with plug if availiable. The mess of pouring off a full pan of trans fluid is absolutely STUPID!
People keep buying vehicles that are built to create profits for the upper management. Chevy had a truck with the same body from 76-87 with minor grill changes. Now they change the body every few years because god forbid you dont have the newest body style. People will think your poor. Took them into the 2000s to learn that. Now every car manufacturers instead of running a bady for 8 years its 3-4
They wouldn't be problematic, if people serviced their transmission when it's supposed to be done. Don't wait until you reach 80k miles and the transmission fluid is black and your transmission is giving you problems. Nobody changes their transmission fluid and filter until the transmission starts giving them problems, and nobody ever changes the diff oil, or the transfer case fluid, until the gears start banging, universal 's are banging and speaking, back and front differential 's are banging and whining. Transmission's and diff's are the most neglected parts of the drive train.
Nice 5 inch straight pipe
Ford gave them a good transmission and they filled it full of shit that’s what happened! GM take quality out everything!!

He nailed the problem with the pan. It's a GM.
Why not just drill the existing pan, tap the hole, and install a drain plug?!?
Banks is all about Fins and Sturdy metal
Just tap a dang plug, dont spend hundreds on a pan.
I’ve heard of the GM hydramatic, the Problematic is more like it
Hopefully it helps these JUNK transmissions.
Nice! They look great!
It's a depreciating asset. With all the aftermarket stuff you put on it I'm not sure your really saving.
Why not just drill a drain plug into the original pan? Done it on my vehicles not very expensive.
Gm has and always will be trash
It’s absurd that you have to do all of this extra work to prevent $80k truck from failing.
Civilization is doomed, we will be fighting for a cave space in 50 years .
Eat shit gm. I got a recall on my ZL1 for your shitty 10speed…
GM has shit valve body in new Transmission thats why so many are failing.

This pan will NOT stop this issue. It is a design flaw/cheap parts. You can change the fluid daily and it will still fail
CarGuyOnline has a great interview covering this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rU8_hyuIVzI
What about a trans cooler the size of the radiator? Single core?
Since the manufacturers forgot about durability and affordability.
Is the ford hd gaser and diesel 10spd transmission the same as this "Allison" trans?
Stupid design with no plug
