Is this the same on the first gen? I have an 11 and it has like a slight lifter tick on cold start-up that goes away after like a second, it's not as violent sounding as this is tho, or is it just typical hydraulic lifters pumping up once in a while?
When it gets bad like this, can it also cause low oil pressure (4 PSI) at hot idle?
Problem solver don't buy a three point five
Someone correct me if im wrong… But this is a 3.5 issue, right? I bought a 19 2.7 and I couldnt find anything relating to a rattle on startup for that engine… Love it so far
The more I see about new vehicles I am a die-hard Ford man the last I want and I definitely don't want no Chevrolet or no Dodge
Not to mention if they get really bad they'll grenade and send shrapnel out of the phaser into the rest of the engine. Seen it about three times while I was an engine tech at a Dealer.
Better choice would be don’t buy newer vehicles with VVT engines.
Meanwhile, much older high mileage Ford V8s are still purring along beautifully. Ecoboomers are too small, too stressed and too expensive!
Just buy a Toyota you won’t have these bs problems
Mine went BLAM KADUNKA and quit. 50k.
My ecoboost has 260k doesn't sound like this
At what mileage is this supposed to happen? Do all the 2nd gen 3.5 eco boost do this?
