@1:20 "There's only one problem with the BA falcons"

Disagree. I own a 2nd hand 2002 BA XR6 ute (bought it at 160thou on the clock and it was well looked after by the previous owner)…the BA-BFs are absolute shit quality across many aspects (compared to the previous model fords I've owned). The last quality build by Ford, various owners state, was the AU.
( makes me consider the shit products starting with the BA is why Ford Oz went bankrupt, and it seems feasible to me Ford paid for the 'Car of the Year' award the BA received)

Shit parts on my BA ute.
– engine mounts that both completely fail in 12 months ( the idiotic oil filled oem ones). ( I'm buying $250 steel mounts, as even aftermarket solid rubber mounts fail after 24months…and of the numerous cars I've owned over 40 years, I've only ever replaced one broken engine mount – I've gone through three sets on the BA in about 6 years)

– badly designed ignition key mechanism that fails after a certain time. ( Ford fixed this design flaw for the BF) Starter motor stays on or half the dash and electrics don't work, until you manually set the key back to it's proper position)
– air venting system rod breaks after a certain time (another dumbass design flaw – difficult and expensive to replace, as seats, console and dash have to be fully removed for a $50 part that takes 30 mins to replace. A mechanic shop will cost you $800+ in labor to do the job
– night time mode on the rear view mirror is way out of alignment (same on me mum's BF)
– paint falling off in large chunks in various places ( worst is inbetween cab and tub, thus tub has to be removed to respray)
– 5 speed box – selectors worn even at 160thou
– various cheap and nasty trimming, both internal and external ( either badly fitting or falling apart)
– roof lining failing on edges of front and rears windows ( due to being very thin material and no longer wrapped under foam, thus easily comes away from foam backing)
– spare tyre winch under the tub – badly designed – Ford never made replacement parts, and 2nd hand ones are rare to find ( plastic worm gear instead of steel or alloy for the cable is the primary fail point).
– electric window mechanisms wear out, causing various window issues.

Can you use any double din head unit?

Reece says:

Went I first finished my auto elec apprenticeship and started working on cars alot with another business I heard about those triangles snapping and immediately looked at one to work out the exact points to lever them up with a pry tool. So far so good I have pulled a heap of them out and have yet to snap one haha.

Shaun Corcoran says:

Was that ute ABS? I did the exact same mod on my ute with an XR6 dash after watching this and now it keeps chucking up ABS, trac control lights and brake warning light. My ute does not have ABS, i was just wondering how to take these lights away?
