Thanks for the video! If it helps anyone else, I needed a 7mm allen wrench for my 2003 zx5.
excellent video thanks !
Awesome video, I suck at cars. This really helped. Thank you!
On some vehicles, sometimes (depending on the calipers) you can see the groove through the top of the caliper.
Is it possible to see the wear groove without dismounting the caliper (or must you take the pad off)?
Buy/borrow a Spoon Kit, will make your life easier. Spoon Kits are specialized tools for removing and reinstalling the springs. Sure you could just use a screwdriver, but it will be harder. I’ve never done it myself, but I’ve had it done in front of me.
We currently do not have an auto repair video that covers this particular repair. We do carry a Haynes repair manual on our website that would cover the repair. 1aauto.com Part Number: 1AMNL00056 888-844-3393
Excellent! Now how do I check/fix ford focus rear, drum brakes?
Tip: Instead of fighting gravity, you can use a bent coat hanger hung on the spring to hold up the caliper with no worry of dropping it and ripping off the brake line.
The clip shouldn’t come loose, it should hold the pad firmly to the caliper. If you have bought the pads from us and there’s any kind of issue, please call our toll free number 888-844-3393 and one of our customer service reps will help you out.
so the clip on the outer pad is just left there? because i replaced mine but the clip keeps comming loose and grinds on the inside of the rim.
We’ll keep this in mind the next time that we need to make a repair on one of these vehicles.
Is it possible for you at 1A Auto parts to show how to do the rear drums for the Focus in the same year range????? Thank you in advance!
Thank you very much for this video!
Thanks for posting this.
thank you very much for this video it helped so much.. i felt very confident doing the job didnt take long and gave me a good feeling with the new brakes and hey i saved alot by doing it myself thanks to you…
Thanks for this video!!
if you are not removing the caliper, the system will not need to be bled; no air is getting in if the caliper is left attached to the hose and the bleeder has not been opened up
thanks for posting this video, i have a question, i noticed you did not bleed out the system, is that not necessary? thanks
