oh okay bro and that would be a life saver. thanks so much!!

mike moe says:

how to connect a aftermarket stereo head to the stock 460 system with the
square connector wich wire goes where ??

Osama BinLaden says:

@homeaddition hey man instead of taking your backseat out just pop your
interior well off of the back panel by the trunk it just pops off, and
where’s the fuse for the amps? Mine won’t play.

ProvenHelper says:

The fuse for the amps is in the main fuse box underneath the steering
wheel. I don’t remember what number the fuse was and it’s not the same one
as the radio. I actually took some needle nose pliers and pulled each fuse
out while the car was running. Make sure you have a flash light handy to
thoroughly inspect the fuses. My first time around inspecting I missed the
tiny split in the metal fuse. Good Luck!

Zack Summa says:

For future reference, if you have the convertible top up you can actually
lift the carpeting in the trunk to gain acces to the amps, my friend has a
convertible SN9 New edge, just saves some time no need to remove the seat

Yannick Luna says:

Does anyone know what the fuse number is for the amps? I don’t see it in
the owners manual. Since you mentioned its not the same as the radio.

Cesar Sanchez says:

Wheres the bad fuse

gtzgreatride says:

It’s not that hard to replace the radio, some say it will sound like crap.
I’ve had no issues installing an aftermarket radio on mine, just don’t use
the coaxial connection to connect them to the preouts, use the standard
wires from the headunit into the factory harness, I cut them out and it
sounds nice. PM me for details, I’ll be happy to send you pictures of my
installation.

ProvenHelper says:

Not for me, lol. When you drop the top you’ll have more light and more room
to work with.

ProvenHelper says:

When in doubt pull all out LOL 🙂

ProvenHelper says:

That’s true I tried to just pry mine out of the way and it was very cramped
in there. Removing the seat is actually pretty easy.

ProvenHelper says:

Try putting the factory radio back in to see if your bass comes back. If it
does, then the problem is in your wiring of the new radio.

xXkalix says:

i was thinking to replace the amps in my mustang 01 convertible. My
question is. if i take the factory amps out would there the space for a
aftermarket amp that is a bigger? if not is underneath the backseat space
for a amp?

XSlashDashX says:

I put in new aftermarket head unit in my 98 GT and the sound sounds
horrible. Bought mine from crutchfield and came with 4 rca cables and When
I connect them, only front speakers work.

yluna217 says:

YES!!!! Ive been looking everywhere trying to get my fucking bass back! I
remember when i installed my aftermarket, a blue cable was left over. Is
this the case for yours as well?

ProvenHelper says:

There’s a fuse box underneath the dashboard on the drivers side. There are
two fuses that are labeled as a radio fuse. I believe the one that blew on
mine was 25amps.I actually pulled out every fuse before to find it.

Hey Every BODY 🙂 Check out my Lexus Street Race video that I posted on
10/14/2012. It’s between a 2006 Lexus GS300 and a 2012 Lexus ES350! hot and
very surprising at the end!

Zack Summa says:

Oh? Wasnt too sure, just an easy quick way should you have to change them
again (: awesome car btw. Love the Saleen

ProvenHelper says:

No it won’t. The alternator noise is from a bad ground, but I have the same
problem with my mustang. I’m going to try running a ground wire right from
the negative battery terminal myself. When I do it, I’ll record a 1080p
video. So Stay Tuned 🙂 #mustangtips

Great vid i got 02 GT n its got mach 460 left door n left rear speak quit
working changed head unit still no left sound took out amp n rear on left
took off cover n gots big burnt spot on cerit bored i need one amp

ProvenHelper says:

Mine sounds good. Do your research on Crutchfield.

yluna217 says:

I’m not sure. I’m working with a 2001. Try Ebay man. I hate how my car
sounds now. Full of treble and no depth without bass. I rewired everything
exactly how it should be and still no bass. I would hate to buy new amps
when my stock bass worked perfectly fine. If anyone knows a solution to
this please help me out!

ProvenHelper says:

I’m using the stock Mach 460 speakers, and swapping the amp for the OEM
replacement will not affect your sound quality at all. Swapping out the
headunit (radio) will affect the sound quality because the EQ will not be
tuned the same way the FORD radio was tuned for the Mach 460 speakers.
However, if you buy a car radio with an adjustable EQ, you should be able
to improve or match the OEM sound quality. hope that helps. #ford #mustang

bdogg071 says:

hey man my mach 460 isnt putting out any sound at all but i know my head
unit is good and it is wired correctly could you please tell me where the
fuse you found was at id appreciate it thanks

ProvenHelper says:

If you remove the two amps back there, there should be plenty of room.

tkaofbob says:

My front door speakers not the tweeters and the back panels speakers dont
work but all four tweeters work were you having the same problem? if so
where was this fuse you missed

freshazimiz4 says:

Hey man. i’m not quite too sure how to say this, but i’m thinking of
changing my radio into a modern more looking radio in my mustang(you know
like bluetooth, ipod jack etc…) and i happen to have the mach system. i’m
not really sure. i heard that if you change to a different type of radio
receiver it will make the sound crappy. i mean you think there’s another
compatible radio receiver that would fit the system that would sound the
same or better.?

Colleen Doyle says:

Hey dude what fuse did you miss? I checked the three in the fuse panel
underneath the steering column…
