Carbon fiber (ish) parts are cool.
+ if the door cards are off, there's a great opportunity to clean the door drain holes, at the bottom of the door. Dust-free will be rust-free.

I've got three of those door trims off. The cable ties idea will now take things forward rather than glueing them back on. I have a Mk1 so you've been really helpful. Great job.
