@98offroadFORDexpo I used M6 1.0X12MM and they worked fine. The only thing
I did different on the install was install all the bolts with the nut on
the outside (not interior to the door.) This video was extremely helpful
and also got me to buy my regulator and motor from 1AAuto 🙂 One thing that
I noticed does not work any more is my ‘auto’ roll down. Was the ‘auto’
roll down a function of the original motor or is that a function of the
door switch?

1A Auto Parts says:

@routerpimp Thank you for checking us out, and also for your purchase. The
auto roll down feature is enabled by the switch.

1A Auto Parts says:

@98offroadFORDexpo I beleive the are m6 1.5 cm long with 10mm head.

1A Auto Parts says:

We currently do not carry the clips for that particular vehicle.

bear thomas says:

YOU NEED TO LINK FOR CONTINUITY BETWEEN PART 1 AND PART 2 OF YOUR VIDEOS
otherwise, thank you- I ordered and will be replacing per your website and
instruction.

thugcase says:

Good video… question is the motor only activate down. both door switches
are good. benched a new motor, same thing

Cobramlw says:

I was replacing the motor and when I removed the motor from the regulator
the tension spring behind the motor came out witch way should it go in? my
new motor is loud like its trying to hard to roll up the window… should i
get a new motor or did i put the tension spring in wrong?

maverickdallas100 says:

The video turned a dreaded job into an easy one. I installed a brand new
regulator and motor assembly in the front passenger door of my 1999
Expedition between my morning and afternoon work shifts. Total cost…$75.
Many thanks!

bugleboyboy says:

That is a Fantastic Video, I feel more confident now after watching,
“Thankyou”. 🙂

1A Auto Parts says:

@Cobramlw I really can’t tell but it does sound like you put in the spring
wrong. It could also be the joints in your regulator are worn, I always
recommend replacing the motor and regulator at the same time.

1A Auto Parts says:

If the motor only works in one direction off and on the switch, it may be a
bad window motor.

cookiedogg1 says:

well done on the video. will refer to this when i replace my motor.

SuperGutrot says:

Ignore last question, see it’s already answered below…thx

James Flanigan says:

What kind of bolts can I use instead of rivets to re-install the regulator??

1A Auto Parts says:

You should be able to change just the motor if that’s the only thing wrong
with it. Here’s a link to them on our website. Just copy and paste into
your browser

Carmelo Trump says:

Thanks 1aauto, I just saved a ton because of your video. I bought my
regulator/motor from napa & of course they didny tell me that there were 6
rivets holding it in place so I used my dremmel to cut the heads off the
punched it out with a screw driver….then I needed help with finding out
how to put the new one in by the motor & thats when I found your video on
how to install, it helped me out very much. you are the man.

Justin VanDyke-Restifo says:

Awesome vids, I’ve used 3 of them so far. Has saved me tons in labor
compared to garage!

Thaddeus Maximus says:

Thank You, very very very very very very much! I just paid someone to mess
this up for me! I will go it alone this time.

Carmelo Trump says:

This also is the same for 01 lincoln navigotor window regulator .

1A Auto Parts says:

Glad we could help you out. Here’s a link to the window regulators that we
offer on our website for your 2001 Lincoln Navigator in case you need
another down the road.

sayefwasif says:

motor if my motor is the only that’s not working….plzz let me know
THanks!!

Thanks for checking us out. Have a great day ! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

pigfarmer05 says:

This video is extremely helpful. . On our( 97 F150) we have plastic ribets
instead of screws on the door panel removel. We had to get some new plastic
ribets. In order to remove the plastic insulation you must remove the door
handle assembly and peal the backing off carefully. Speaker must be
removed. I used 1/4 bolts 3/4 long to reattach the track assembly. Spring
must be put on correctly! (See Video). Other than a few minor differences
The Video is great ! Thanks “Jack of all trades”

diggum12 says:

Great video that told me EVERYTHING I needed to know. My problem is that
the window keeps popping out of the holds/clips on the regulator arm. One
of them is really waller’d out, so it won’t stay in the clips, even with
epoxy. Does 1aauto sell those clips?

1A Auto Parts says:

@hjones12150207 No problem at all. Thanks for checking us out. Have a great
day!

Nixxanator says:

Thanks for the vid very helpful! going to have to try that when its not so
cold lol

98offroadFORDexpo says:

@1aauto thanks. my regulator kit came with rivets. should i just put those
back in or do you recommend bolts? expeditionforum says use bolts but i
just wasnt sure.

1A Auto Parts says:

Thanks for checking us out. Have a great day.

routerpimp says:

Received my replacement parts from 1AA and am about to start the repair.
When replacing the rivets with nuts/bolts what size are you using? It’s
hard to tell from just watching the video.

1A Auto Parts says:

There’s not really a specific size, probably like 1/4″ bolts may work.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to first test the wire going to the window motor to see if
there’s power going to it. If there is it may be the window motor that has
gone bad. Also check the fuses to see if any of them are blown.

1A Auto Parts says:

We do carry just the window motors on our website if the window regulator
is good. You may be able to take it off of the regulator inside of the
door.

mrwjh says:

IS it just a good idea to get the regualtor and the motor? Not sure what is
going on with mine other than it doesnt work? Great videos!

hjones12150207 says:

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! my window has been messed up for 2 years in my
expedition. now i can fix it myself….

thugcase says:

thanks…. I was getting 12 v to the motor in both directions per the
switches. I disassembled the switches and cleaned them with contact
cleaner. Fixed the problem. Read on a thread that the ground on both
switches are linked…..

98offroadFORDexpo says:

what size are those bolts? i can finally do this since i just got my
regulator.

1A Auto Parts says:

They might be held in with some glue. The dealer may be able to tell you if
your application requires glue to hold it in place.

Tri-County Technology says:

Great video. Nice and clearly informative. I have a bad passenger-side
window motor on a ’97 F150 – is that part replaceable without pulling the
whole regulator assembly out as well? Thanks

MrAuronjohnson says:

thanks much my window came off track in my 98 expedition and its too cold
here for me to do too much and this helped me to put it back on track

franxxis says:

I’ll try this again – it wouldn’t post B4. I have the panel off, the window
will not stay in the clamps. It pulls out when I open it, about halfway
down. Are they glued in ? Can those clamps the window rests in be squeezed
tighter?

1A Auto Parts says:

@98offroadFORDexpo I’d use bolts as well.
