If you wanted to use a by-pass pulley in place of the AC compressor then you would need to remove the compressor. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Excellent video, also works for the UK version of the 1.6 with AC except they used different sized bolts for some reason, the tensioner bolt is 17mm and the lower cover uses 8mm.
I just blow this belt 10 mins from home. Wish me luck on the side of the road lol

Usually you’ll see cracks all over the belt.
What are the signs that its going? I first heard kind of a chirpping sound when my focus shifts. It sounds like the belt, to me. NOw it seems to have progessed to that my car hesistates sometimes when accelerating. Thanks

How long did this take you? My son has a 2001 Focus and his belt shredded away, probably because a pully isn’t aligned with the others like you noticed on this car.
