Its definitely a small exhaust leak somewhere. I currently have the same
noise and have taken mine to a shop and had it confirmed that it is indeed
a leak. I just haven’t had the money to have it fixed yet. My leak is
somewhere around the manifolds.

1A Auto Parts says:

@279spirit We offer a choice between AC Delco belts and an aftermarket
brown box. More often though on the Chevy and GMC trucks, it is one of the
tensioner pulleys making the noise. They are known to start going around
50K miles.

Thank you. Ordered a couple parts from you guys and was satisfied with
shipping. I intend to order more parts and recommend you guys to my buddies
as well. Please do some more Mustang (V8) videos. Also keep up the good
work 1aauto.

s video or something with what kind of tools u would use thanks… all of
ur videos are extremely helpful with the mustang and accords

michael rowe says:

@infringinator what kind of belt do you have chevy is bad for that
squeaking noise with aftermarket belts

1A Auto Parts says:

You may have a bad coil. If the check engine light is on you may want to
try to pull the code. If you need a set of coils we carry them with free
shipping on our website Part Number: 1AERK00024 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Great video. Thank you 1A Auto.

THEHAITIAN1804 says:

Outstanding. I hope you guys do more videos on Mustang (especially V8).

1A Auto Parts says:

@infringinator The GM Trucks are known for their serpentine tensioner
pulleys going bad. On many applications There are 2 tensioners, one for the
major belt and one down low for the AC belt. We sell both on our website.

1A Auto Parts says:

The new pulley came with a spacer.

I have a 98 mustang ft and 2 cylinders arnt firing.. any ideas what the
problem is or could be?

sman112191 says:

Yea 99-04 mustang v6’s are known to have an exhaust manifold leak. That is
most likely what you’re hearing.

hectro805 says:

Got it… If the noise got worse after the pulley was replaced what might
the problem be?

George Gill says:

I just bought a 2000 mustang 3.8 and i was wondering if you know if the
power steering pump pully is supposed to move in and out with no belt on
it? i have 3 ford power steering pumps laying around and they all do the
same thing if you grab the pully you can move it in and out of the pump are
they supposed to be like this?

1A Auto Parts says:

It may be a small exhaust leak somewhere.

nickisthesht says:

Hello, great videos have helped me out a lot appreciate all the information
and great description when carrying out procedures. Quick question, when I
have a 2001 mustang v6 3.8. When ever i touch the accelerator there is a
ticking noise, I noticed it on a few mustangs i have driven any ideas?
Thanks, Nick

1A Auto Parts says:

If it’s a squeeling noise you may want to check the belt or the tensioner.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to check the belt tensioner to see if it needs to be replaced.
After a while they tend to loose their tension, causing the belt to squeal.

1A Auto Parts says:

You need to go to your local parts store and pick up a spark plug socket.

George Gill says:

@1aauto yeah thats what we thought too we didnt know if it was just
something that goes bad on them alot or what now my car wont start at all i
think its the starter wire

infringinator says:

my 2006 silverado squeaks a little should I try this? Or just change the
belt?

1A Auto Parts says:

@countryboyG This isn’t something that I’ve noticed or tried out. If all
three of them do the same thing, it could be the way that they are designed.

hectro805 says:

Why is the plastic spacer removed?
