I bought a set of used mirrors recently for my 2002 F350. Does anybody know
where I can buy a new set of the mirror pads/gaskets? I can’t seem to find
them anywhere.
It really depends on how your truck is wired, we have had customers buy the
updated 08+ style mirrors made for the pre 08 trucks. Some of those
customers did have the directional, power and puddle light work with the
new tow mirror. If you have the dealer run the VIN number for you, they may
be able to tell you if the wiring is there on your truck, so that the added
features would work. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
I’m just asking cause that’s how your plug is set up and advertised the
features for the later years.. I’m looking at the updated 06 ones. And the
discretion says power, defrost and single. That’s why I ask. You don’t have
just power….
We recommend matching the functions that your mirror currently has with the
functions of the new mirror that you’re looking at. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
I have a 2001 f250 with the power mirrors… Question is I don’t have the
signal or heated mirrors but are power will all the functions of the new
mirrors work or just the power?
Not only did I get a great part at the best price, you also saved lots of
time with this video! Great job!! Highly recommended!!!!
Dude! Thank you. You just saved me about $150.00!
Keep a magnet handy to place alongside the socket extension and the nut
will stick to it and not fall in the door.
Is there a way to test your switch? I have a lariat 99 f250 and my mirrors
have never been power. I have never known why they don’t work I haven’t
really looked into it. I have the switch for auto mirrors. I want to
upgrade to automatic superduty mirrors but I don’t want to buy them if
they’re not going to work.
How do I get to the glass on my 2007 f150 side view mirror so that I may
replace it
Thanks for the video! It really helped.
Thanks for posting this. I ran into a tree and broke my pasenger side
mirror and was just browsing to see if there was a ‘how to’ video when I
saw this. This will make the new mirror install a breeze…..Thanks so
much!!
We do carry some of the replacement glass on our website. We also carry new
mirrors. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
@finatik5 Thank you for visiting our auto repair channel. Have a great day!
@stlouissux9119 You could test the switch with a test light to see if
there’s power going to it and from it. That way it would take the switch
out of the equation if it was working.
This is a great video, and I just completed an install of my side mirror.
My only problem was that I did not put the window down prior to starting.
If you are going to replace one of these heavy mirrors, dont do like me and
have to reconnect the harness to open the window mid project.
Better than a Chilton’s manual! Thanks for sharing!!!
@1aauto The mirror fuse (4 under the drivers wheel) is not blown. I checked
my connection to the switch and it is connected. They are power mirrors i’m
trying to figure out why neither one works. Is there a way to test the
switch? Sounds like it may have gone bad unless there is a relay somewhere
but I don’t believe there is.
@stlouissux9119 You may want to check your fuses to see if any of them are
blown.
If you have Manual Mirrors on your Ford Super Duty Truck you do not need to
remove the door panel. You only need to remove the small upper panel to
expose two of the mounting nuts.
