Grant Blair says:

Do you need to punch out the right rivet and drill the left or can you
punch both?

Diane Ripley says:

do you have a video on how to replace the latch on inside door of ford
explorer?

Larry Corman says:

does this apply to an ’04 Ranger? and if so, what size of bolts do I
need? thx

skylins1997 says:

I followed the procedure shown in the video but the “yellow clip” broke.
The new handle is on now but I can’t connect it to the latch assembly. How
do I replace the yellow clip? I’m now worse off than I was before.

Darrin Klice says:

I should have watched this video before tearing my truck apart. Passenger
side 1998 for Ranger. I got stick on the rivets. Did not know what to do.
Watched your video … piece of cake. Had to run to Wal-Mart afterhours to
get bolts/nuts & washers. Thanks again so much. You are absolutely
incredible.

1A Auto Parts says:

@gabrielmontagemaker If the handle works on the drivers side when attached.
I would re-attach it to the door with screws or rivits.

Thomas Aldinger says:

Thanks for posting this video. I had a broken handle, on the drivers side.
I was using the passenger side to open the truck, having to lean across
time to get the door open, lol. After i saw this video, i ordered the part,
and got the whole job done in about 30 min. I wish i could have bought the
part through 1AAuto, but it was out of stock…

MarksmanKMR says:

Helped out a lot… Thanks!

Amelia Ipkornerk says:

Do you have a video for inside back passenger door handle?

rangerguy17 says:

hello and my door handle works but its got a little play in it so i have to
lift the handle a ways before it starts to engage the door latch do i just
have to adjust it or do i need a new handle?

Christopher Pausz says:

I ordered the door handle and so what size bolts should I get?

maninabox32697 says:

1aauto i just ordered a pair of handles from you guys and i was wondering,
as far as hardware goes, what diameter and length bolts should i get??

Daniel Bennett says:

thank you, who knows how much money i just saved. screw you dealership!

zama Califoor says:

4.14 ???? how did you unclip the mechanism inside?? such a pain in this ass.

1A Auto Parts says:

You can rivet them back on or bolt them back on. There’s not really any
certain size, if you get a couple of nuts and bolts from the store that fit
through the hole properly without a lot of play, you should be fine. Thank
you for your order. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1A Auto Parts says:

The mounting base, is more than likely different.

monsrud2013 says:

1aauto, your video is very helpful. Living in Northern Minnesota has its
ups and downs. One of the downs is when the door on your ranger freezes and
you don’t know about it. That’s how you break a door handle up here!!! Took
me less then 30 mins to get it all done from your video!! Thank you!! You
saved me $100. I was just gonna bring it to an auto shop tobget ot fixed!
Not anymore, I’m checking your page before I go to an auto shop now!!!

Matt Cox says:

I have those same style side view mirrors can they be replaced with side
mirrors from a 09 ranger ?

FaurionWolf says:

I have a 98 Ranger and I’m actually having a problem with the rod that
attaches to the outside handle from the inside. It’s bent and it’s
preventing the outide door handle from correctly latching on and activating
the latch to open the door. I’ve tried to access it and bend it to a
straighter position, but it’s proven difficult to get into the door and do
that. Can you give me some advice with fixing this problem?

yetimusic666 says:

This did not work on my 98 ranger.Got your plastic replacement part, took
apart door, and low and behold not the same attachment in my door.Tried for
over an hour take get the thing apart..no such luck. Now I’m sure models are
different from year to year…but there needs to be a disclaimer on this
vid and your part.I’m gonna have to take to a shop and get ripped off
now.Not to mention the money I already wasted.

Max MacGuinness says:

I have followed your instructions to remove my broken handle, how ever the
rod that opens the latch came off in my hand. On my 2000 Ranger the
connection of the Rod is a slot. The end that works the latch can not be
seen to reattach it. Any sudgestions? Max

Christopher Pausz says:

I just ordered from 1aauto this part. I didnt know id have to buy hardware.
So what size bolts should I buy?? Nice video btw, good for newbies

John Doucette says:

Thank you so much for this – made the job so quick!

dpl1108121 says:

you can use rivots again can’t you?

1A Auto Parts says:

@gabrielmontagemaker You could try to go into the other door if it opens,
and open the one that’s broke from the inside so that you can repair it.

ggrimaldo1 says:

Thanks for the video, helps out, plus now I know where to get parts for my
old cars,,,

TroyBoy86 says:

i have a 94 ford ranger, i have just replace driver side door latch i
noticed that the rod that aloows outside handle to open door does not fit
the new latch i put in, inside handle fits fine and the lock fits fine, the
latch came with a smooth hole that is slightly smaller than stock that
opens up and clips together, my question is. can i buy a rod that is
smoothed at bottom intsead of threaded?

1A Auto Parts says:

You would need to somehow remove the door panel so that you can get to the
rod to pop the door open.

1A Auto Parts says:

Take a close look at that latch. if the “claws” are jammed into the up
position, you can tap them down with a flat head screw driver

Built2spillrox13 says:

Thanks alot for this video! Help me out alot with my FORD RANGER door
handle suituation.

1A Auto Parts says:

@mstblue Punching out and drilling the rivets is the most technical part.
Beyond that it is pretty basic. It probably took me an hour including all
the time to film. Probably takes me 30 minutes without filming. I would say
a person trying it for the first time should give themselves a good hour.

gabrielmontagemaker says:

@1aauto Neither one of my doors would open. I could unlock them but not
open them. I think they may have been frozen. My door handle on the drivers
side works for now, but it pops out of place when i pull on it. there are
two screws missing
