FWIW: 1 – it is possible to reinstall with the housing still on the console; 2 – engineering on spring-hook makes twisting the cup holder hook 180 degrees problematic as the spring interferes with console mount and causes the arm to pop off the double-eye mount. I found that the hook does come out of the cup holder hole easily but if held in place with one finger while pushing the side pins into their slots with cup holder at roughly 45 degree angle from top it is possible.
