Thanks for taking the time to explain this. I had been using my car’s tape player with an adapter to play my tunes, but that just crapped out on me. I have little to no knowledge about this type of stuff and you made it seem possible for someone like myself to do it own their own. 🙂
Just buy a new stereo
could this work an an 03 mustang
can u do this on the stereo from a 1998 Sunfire CD stereo ?
Very true. I have tried the cassette adapters and the modulators, and the sound quality was just terrible.
Garbage sound & ruins your cassette deck!
Modulators are not any good as the FCC cracked down on output levels a cpouple of years ago. They WERE good they NOW suck!
The cassette adapters SUCK PERIOD! They make noise and will destroy your cassette deck. Piss poor choice for sure!
FM modulator and avoid all that s***
Thank you :)
nice SHO
I kept the stock system for a few reasons. I like the look of OEM equipment, the modification was a learning experience, and the sound is very good with the direct line in. An aftermarket install on this car would be a pain because it’s externally amplified (amp in the trunk). Not to mention the wow factor when somebody flips the ash tray and…. OH SWITCHES!!?!
For all that work, Why not just buy a aftermarket stereo? Besides the fact that it will cost more, I dont see why not just buy one since your doing all the work already.
*** There’s an easier way that requires NO MODIFICATIONS ETC. I used the analogue cassette to 3.5 mm adapter and it works well and the audio is awesome. I can now listen to music from my Ipod/Iphone/tablet etc. Google this or find it at Amazon “Monster iCarPlay Cassette Adapter 800 for iPod and iPhone -3 feet” for under $9.
So it should work on my Mach 460 on my 03 GT Stang????
Thanks in advance!
Not if your vehicle doesn’t have a cassette deck.
Some cars are too old to have an auxiliary input, and too new for a cassette deck. Hence, this video.
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO TO USE MP3 ON YOUR SMART PHONE IS TO GET A CASSETTE TAPE WITH A WIRE THAT IS CONNECTED TO IT, PUSH THE TAPE INTO SLOT AND HOOK THE JACK INTO YOUR HEADPHONE JACK AND YOUR DONE…THAT SIMPLE AND AT WALMART OR KMART YOU CAN BUY FOR 8.00 BUCKS HERE YOU GO…SOUNDS AND WORKS FLAWLESSLY….. walmart dot com/ip/RCA-Cassette-Adapter/16553075 to fix link at the .
could this work on a ford 2000 escort?
Just buy a new radio with an aux port
no
you are wrong
If your car has an externally amplified head unit it will work, but the plug harness is different, so you’d have to research what the pinout is.
Would this work on a 2005 Ford Mustang GT?
all cars got amplifiers alen but anyways cant u get a mp3 to cassette tape its like $10 and it takes no time to make it work
Your a dumb ass cars don’t have amplifighers unless you install one
I thought I was the only one with a manual transmission in my Explorer lol
The audio cable coming from your external audio source only has 3 wires, a right channel, left channel and common negative. The car’s audio has 4 separate channels (positive and negative. You need the right channel from your cable to go to the right front and rear, and similarly for the left channel. The single negative lead from your 3.5mm audio plug neads to go to all four negatives. Good luck!
Connecting the AUX input to the audio amplifier, you need to connect the negative from the AUX input to all the negatives from the radio going to the audio amplifier. Is that right? You said there was 2 positives for the AUX input and both need to go to the positives from the radio going to the audio amplifier. Is that right?
If the radio is externally amplified type, it will work. Thanks!
Will this work for a 2003 ford ranger??
sounds like a bad earth.
Who knows where is the AUX imput for Ford Fiesta Ghia 2007 with Ford 6000CD stock ? 🙁
