Thanks for the video bro, my subwoofers knocked one of my door speakers
loose in my ranger so i’m taking that sumbiatch apart this morning in an
attempt to fix it.
just curious if the front and rear speakers use the same harness adapter.
The reason I ask is because I replaced mine with ds68’s and the rear
harness’ wont click in and I don’t hear sound through them. the front
worked fine no problem but the back speakers wont seem to work.
Your truck might vary quite a bit from mine since it is that much newer.
2000 was the last year for this body style and was also the last year with
the pushrod 4.0 V6. This is a good generic guide for any door speaker
replacement, though. Kicker speakers kick ass!
Good info. I have a 2011 Ranger and the factory speakers are fine, but I am
sure eventually I’ll need to replace them (or tighten up the door handles).
Mine look slightly different.
No, you don’t have to use it but it makes the installation simpler. You can
just cut the Ford harness off and put crimp connectors on the wires and
hook those to the speaker, or you can cut the Ford harness off and then
solder the wires to the speaker.
whats sizes of speakers where those?

Thank you so much, very informative! Great length, and covered all the
areas.

Such a helpful video…Thanks!

harness but if not the worst is ordering it from crutchfield but thanks dude
Nice! thanks, That is just what I was looking to do with my Ranger.
Kicker 89, Crutchfield Item# 12071048 harness
Great vid. Exactly what I needed…I’m putting some Rockford Fosgates in
mine.
You can always cut and solder the wires if they are long enough. That only
costs a few pennies worth of electricity.
whats the part number or name to find the harness
Crutchfield Item# 12071048
Crutchfield online. They sell everything you need for home and automotive
audio.
My truck has the 4.0 V6, I believe the same one as the 2000 had? The
interior looks almost exactly the same.
Do you need the adapter?
What speaker and harness did you use?
We’re did u get the wiring adapter
Ill prolly go with that way and it helps working at autozone to have easy
access to that and a manager who is extremely good with speakers

You have an overhead cam engine. 2001 up is overhead cam. 2000 and older
have pushrod engines.
I got everything from Crutchfield. You can give them a call at
1-800-319-8943 and they should be able to order them for you.
