How to Easily Replace the Starter on a 1987 Ford F150 4X4 Pickup

In this video, we easily replace the failing starter on our 1987 Ford F150 4×4 Pickup. It was simple and took less than on hour. We saved hundreds of dollars doing it ourselves. This truck has the 300 straight 6 cylinder motor.

Great video. Love the straight 6. Battery though- disconnect ground first, reconnect last. Safer that way.

But did you replace the solenoid after all? I am on my THIRD starter from that Irish place and did not do the solenoid.

Sir im about to go look at a 85 f150 4×4 and the starter bolt holes in the bell housing are striped is there a good place i can clamp down the starter so i can start it to get it home? Or are the hiles thru and thru so o can stick a long bolt thru and use a nut to bolt it up that way?

I watched your video before attempting to remove old starter and install a new one. It was a tremendous help! I got the job done and trust me, I'm not a mechanic by any means!
