Mojo 1965,
As I found out, mojo 1965 is absolutely correct. And the 2 top screws are
very difficult to get at. Why they need 5 screws to secure an unstressed
small plastic cover is beyond me! (As we can see from the video, the
Europeans find that one is fine.) And then, wrestling and scrunching the
filter to get it out and reshape and scrunch the new one to get it through
that unfathomably small clearance just adds to the misery. Poorly designed
and engineered, I say…

S D Rothfels says:

I will follow your procedure. (Hopefully it is the same for a 2011 Canadian
Fiesta.)
Thanks for making you demonstration good and clear.

It this the filter were the air goes through the Airco?
because i just get a stinky smell when i turn on the airco.
and when the airco is of, no problem.

Changed the filter today on my daughter’s 2009 Fiesta 1.4TDCI after
watching the video. No problem at all, straightforward job. I did note
however that the large plastic panel that has to be removed from the
footwell did not have the felt padding on the inside as on the car in the
video. Would this be for sound-proofing?

Very clear. Many thanks!

well done.

No problem. Unfortunately the manufacturers never make things easy for us
DIYers.

Thanks for up loading this tutorial. will definitely do this myself when
the time comes round. We have a both a 2010 Fiesta and Mazda2 and
(unsurprisingly) both cars appear to have identical placement of the
ventilation system components. Took me ages the other weekend to get a leaf
that was caught in the fan blades of the Mazda2 (how it got in is anyones
guess) free due to annoying locations of the fan.

Should be the same. Good luck..!
