Ken Morgan says:

That was what is wrong with mine too. Ive tried everything and I got on the
web and started reading up on the DPFE. So, I went out and unhooked the
vacuum line from mine and drove it down the road. It ran great again.
Thanks for the video!

Brad King says:

Last year I got a new EGR Valve put on thinking that it was gonna solve
that problem but it didnt, it has been over a year since I got it put on.
Im glad it has limited lifetime warranty on it from Auto Zone. the code has
been on my truck computer for over a year and has not stopped me from
driving it Im surprised

William Floyd says:

Really appreciate the video

P0401 EGR Insufficient Flow Detected on my 97 Ford F-150. I’ll be getting
that part from Advance Auto Parts next month, believe that.

Marcio De-Oliveira says:

I have a 99 F150 4.2 I changed this same sensor to fix P0401 code now the
CEL is on again with P0171 Bank 1 showing vacuum leaks,Is anybody have any
advice? (Ps.I bought my DPFE at Autozone)

Brad King says:

Hey I got the same code on my 97 Ford F-150 as of now, last year I had got
a EGR Valve from Auto Zone and thought it was gonna fix the problem right
but it has not, so I see the exact part that I need to get, the DPFE EGR
Sensor instead, ok. you are right on point, thank you so much. Im glad that
the EGR Valve has a limited lifetime warranty though, you know something
else I thought it was that made that code come up on my truck computer, I
thought it was the mass air flow sensor.

Esto esta d maravilla me gusta mucho.

Aaron Davila says:

Was your truck shaking while in idle when the light was on? Or while
driving at certain speeds?
Or was the service light on without side effects to the truck?
I’m having same problems but my truck shakes pretty bad.
Thanks in advance for your response.

I was wondering if you could do a video on them vacuum lines? I bought a 99
f150 with the 5.4 the previous owner Had the motor replaced and they didn’t
put lines back on right. I’m not getting vacuum to the 4×4 and I have the
p0401 code

MRproTREATZ says:

thanks for that

Gladys Ribota-Martinez says:

where did you order the part from?

You saved me on that “flickering odometer” Good call man!!

bloodknot101 says:

great video brother. i have a 2004 F150 that I bought new. tonight on my
way home from work it felt like i was riding on oval wheels and i smelled
something hot or burning like electrical. i made it home and popped the
hood – found what may be a short length of hose leading to the egr sensor,
cracked and completely torn in half, apparently broken from heat and wear.
I removed both sides of the short hose, about an inch diameter – total
length of hose was only about 3 or 4 inches. I made a temporary repair
using a sturdy garden hose that I cut to length. the truck ran fine with
the garden hose in place. i made a spare in case i need it until i get the
proper hose in place. i also have the flickering odometer – very annoying.
do you have video showing that fix? if not can you make a video talking
thru the steps how to access the panel where I can resolder the wires?

Cody Wallace says:

My 97 F-150 had the same code but the difference is that i have a 4.2 V6.
The DPFE or EGR vavle position sensor as some call it, is located on the
left hand side of the throttle body. easiest fix i’ve ever done to it. now
its pulling a H02s21 low circut response. i have a feeling that its just
the Oxygen sensor on bank 2 first sensor.

doublewide6 says:

I believe it is right where the wire connector ties into the back of the
control panel. I found pin 1 and 2 had a loose solder joint. I resoldered
all of the pins where the connector ties in and it fixed my problem for 2
years, so far. Good Luck

matthew terry says:

if you have had window problems have you found a fix? my 99 f150 I can roll
the passenger window down from the drivers side but I cant roll it up from
the drivers side I have to reach over and use the passenger window
switch…tried replacing the drivers side switch but had no luck, any
ideas???

Johnny Chaffin says:

Nice vid! Yeah, that flashing odometer should be a required recall,
EVERYONE I know with a F150 has had issues with it. Quality at Ford isn’t
Job #1 anymore. Power window problems, odometer issues, faulty cruise
controls that catch fire . . . more to come most likely!

the ecu checks ALL Sensor after 40 miles

JoeBob12985 says:

where are the soldier joints for the odometer? im haveing the same problem
thanks

Anthony Rogers says:

I had the same problem just as well. And it solved the problem. Also though
my mileage thing is flashing as well. I noticed you had said you fixed
yours by getting where the gauges are. Is there anyway you can make a video
to point that out so I can hopefully fix mine? Thank you very much as well
for the video!

vernmarie69 says:

Hi….recently aquired a 97 ford 150. Runs great half the time. The other
half not so good. Randomly sputters and stalls with engine light on.
Running rich. Usually white smoke out pipes but recently after taking to
shop for scan….which was no code reading…black smoke….carbin im
guessing. When in trouble mode engine light clicks on and off sporadically
as well as the overdrive light. Please help. Need it for work and hubby has
no clue. Thanks

Daniel Welsh says:

Did you disconnect your battery before plugging the new sensor in?

doublewide6 says:

It has stayed off and is still off. It was a successful repair. Thanks for
commenting.
