Just a heads up taking the whole front end off is not necessary Ford put in
access ports for you to remove this radiator without all the extra work.
Besides that great videos.

nathan scott says:

I would’ve messed up the trans line, thanks for this video man.

boston229 says:

@psylence81 nice!! howd it turn out?

boston229 says:

I just pulled mine out, after I got those clips out. The cut lines were
from the junk yard. My top line had plenty of room and came right out.
Maybe you’ll need to take the whole nut/connection off the tranie cooler
line. thats a bitch to get it back together. remember to use that plumbing
tape on the connection going back on, or im pretty sure it will leak

kdm2255 says:

Thanks for your help. Great video!

boston229 says:

theyll be pushing that car before they figure out why it wont start haha

boston229 says:

@sancon123: Thanks for the comment.

boston229 says:

@Aholodnick Nah Brother, wrong dude. I wouldn’t do that shit. Pretty funny
tho.

jkenney940 says:

Thanks a lot bro!! Gonna tackle this on my sister’s Taurus tomorrow. Thanks
for helping everyday people like myself take care of ourselves!! I’m not a
mechanic either, but I have a short video on my channel showing the
connections on the upper intake manifold of my 1996 Ford Explorer V8 5.0
Hopefully it can help someone out as well. Once again, Thank You!!!

boston229 says:

How that radiator work out for you.. In the beginning of my video I said I
didnt make it for instructional purposes. I dont know what I’m doing half
the time I work on my cars or truck bro. I’ve learned alot, but all i ever
do is open the haynes manual and read the steps if it sounds like I can do
it.. even if 25 steps I’ll do it… if there’s 3 steps and one includes
something only a pro should be messing with.. i find immediate help.. i
aint no superman. i hope you didnt cut your trans lines

boston229 says:

If fuse isnt blown… and you dont hear the hummm from the fuel pump
priming.. your pump is BAD. That might be real shttie if it happens on the
freeway, but its DOPE to have a reason to drop your fuel tank. THE REAL
TIP.. is if you ever have to drop your fuel tank, you can splice into the
wires and rig up a KILL SWITCH. you can hide it where ever you want. i like
basic on n off type sht. alarm will prob keep your windows from being
bashed out.. but kill switch is better than low jack…

GATisdale says:

Great job, man! Working on an 02 Sable, and the fittings are identical,
regarding the ATF lines. You have to cut the LIsle plastic tool square, to
accommodate separation, with a cheating lever; a 14″ crow bar comes in
awful handy. Your shit-canning the radiator editing, is for real. Thanks
for the good video. Your intro speaks volumes!

Fernando Hernandez says:

no que no explicas como sacarle la parte delantera , el radiador poner el
radiador es facil quitar todo el frente y los tornillos si que estas 5 hrs.
por lo menos ok.

p2g1949 says:

I liked it. thanks for the tip on tranny lines. gonna make a table like
Urs. good 1st vid.

DriftNDirrty says:

I got a New radiator 80$ from 1800radiator.

boston229 says:

@GATisdale Thanks Brother. How’d your’s come out…all sealed up?

boston229 says:

thanks for the tip man. I havent had to do it again, but im on my fifth
taurus since this video. ever happens again ill take your advice. doing
that job in 3 hours would be SICK.. Like my productivity could be worth
$200/hr when you figure shop rates. theres something silly about the folks
who get trapped when something like a radiator blows on em. working 60
hours/flipping 60 dimes or whatever ppl gatta do, to pay dude in a shop…
when they could listen to strangers on youtube, n get it done

boston229 says:

@prisionbreak07: No problem. Did you stop the leak? If not, maybe use some
teflon tape (the kind used in plumbing connections) for the threads on the
bolt.

fhendrickspt says:

So by ripping the entire front end off you were able to avoid taking the
radiator out of the bottom of the car?

psylence81 says:

damn looks just like my taurus, evn the scatches on the front, lol. I was
gonna take it to shop , but after watching this, Im just gonna do it
myself. Thanks!

Seraph909 says:

Good job, thanks allot.

Aholodnick says:

if u found the quarter in the radiator it was probably from tailgating a
motorcycist. I dont know how many radiators ive destroyed from a dumbass
driver ailgaiting me on my bike. OOOPs it fell outa my pocket.

sancon123 says:

great video and thank’s for the knowledge.

thanks for letting me know about the trans line that runs through the
radiator messed up my old one by taking whole bolt off now i know why its
leaking

boston229 says:

I’m glad I was able to help encourage you to take care of you n ya family
too. thats dope kid. random tip… an easy way to know if your fuel pump
crapped the bed… is to open the FUEL DOOR and take the cap off the fuel
filler neck and put your ear as close to the filler neck opening and have
someone turn the key/ignition to the ON position. If you dont hear a
hummmm.. means your fuel pump isnt priming your fuel lines. Check under
hood fuses for fuel pump fuel fuse should be a giant 20 amp

GATisdale says:

@boston229 The plate-type heat exchanger that is on the passenger-side of
the radiator, cools the ATF. Two things happened: a leak in the power
steering line dripped from the PS pump unit; the fluid was slung by the
belt system, into the radiator, past the cooling fan, making the fluid a
dust magnet. Radiator got clogged with crud, denying the ATF being cooled,
too. The tap water (rather than distilled water) in the coolant system
limed up, in the bulkhead fittings. Transmission got fried.

boston229 says:

No doubt man. How’d you make out? Yah, I’d never call myself a mechanic..
self sufficient maybe. Like I said up there ^^^^.. Ill open the manual and
READ the steps. If Its just nuts and bolts… no big deal… save some
dough. i wouldnt mess with an engine til i was able to put one on a stand..
im not distroyin no ones engine or. trannie.. but suspension, hoses, lines,
motors, connections, cooling system… i leave electrical to a pro too.. no
need to start fires in my dash board.
