Hi scotty I love your all video and thanks for help I have question about
my car altima 1999 I dont know my ideal is very ruff I try evrything I

the injector plus change the spark plug and wire but still the ideal of the
engine is rufff when i drive its run great but if I park it seems like jerk
so I dont know what to do please help me
I have this car and this problem so this helped alot thanks
You can only do that trick to get the crank bolt loose on engines that spin
clockwise. If you don it on an engine that spins counter clockwise you’ll
make it even tighter and most likely break something.
Scotty any Specific brand of camshaft and crankshaft seal that you
recommend? Thank you
i have a 1988 toyota 3vze engine that leaks oil some where towards the
front bottom of the engine after its been driven. after going out for a
drive and i park my toyota truck in the drive way it has steady drips then
slows down then it stops dripping. i think it might be the crank seal but
don’t know for shirr. its not the oil pan where the top of the pan meets
the block i checked that. before i remove the thinks like you did in the
video i want to know what you think it might be.
Hi Scotty, great vid! Help please: I have 97 Odyssey- any clue if its CW
rotation; and, do you have to pay attention to specific markings when
putting the pulley and belts back, or are the TDC settings not affected?
Thanks!-Dio
Love your videos. You make repairs seem so easy sometimes!

Fixing An Oil Leaking Crankshaft Seal
Hi Scotty I have a 97 tacoma 4cly. I change the front crank seal 2 times
and is still leaking oil from it. Do you have any suggestions?
you did 1 thing wrong
you need a torque wrench to tighten the crank pulley
or else your seal may not last long
very smart person for once WITH common sense your awesome
I like his enthusiasm. Haha
Great instruction mate, We are working on this fault on a 2002 mondeo tdci
1,8. I guess that it is the same thing we have to do on that motor. Thank’s
mate.
I recently had a crankshaft seal replaced (about two-four months ago) when
the original failed. Now my mechanic is telling me I should scrap the
engine and get a new one. If the old seal lasted several years is the any
logical reason why this new one would go kaput so quickly? I read something
about bad crankshaft bearings. Could that have to do with it?
scotty , do you think Japanese cars are better than American from your
experience dealing with both thanks for the feedback
How do I tell if my crank shaft is bad..?
Have any vids on rear main seal?I believe thats where my oil on my wifes
car is leaking.
P.S. I need to replace the crank seal from my ’94 Ford Explorer 4.0L V6
Pushrod Automatic 4×4 while I’m also replacing the timing cover gasket.
Engine is not lifted, I got everything in the front removed (rad, fan, fan
clutch, belt, water pump). I’m stuck at the point of pulling the harmonic
balancer out. I managed to get the center bolt removed but, the puller kit
bolts don’t screw in from either having bolt diameters too small or no
threads in the balancer? Thanks Scotty for these videos, they’re great;
hope you can help me here!
Hi, so we don’t need to use a harmonic balancer pulley? We can use a pry
bar to pry the pulley off @2:22 ?
Got a question my 2000 Silverado 2500 6.0 I replaced the fuel pump 4000
miles ago now it’s acting like it’s going back out any help why it’s going
through fuel pumps?
Hey Scotty,
On the Crank Bolt, How do you get it back on, TIGHT ( its gonna spin ).
What about at-205 on the seal First?? Thanks…
Did anyone ever tell you you sound like Billy Mays?….
Nice vid, well shown.
Hi Scotty
I have a fiesta mk5 ( a model which I understand you lot don’t have) but is
it possible that the crank seal would cause clutch slippage In Some cars? I
was told this seal cab be the problem due to oil getting to the clutch
Cheers mate
on the crankshaft seal
nice and simple
Hey Scotty, I have a 2001 chevy impala with the 3.4. I am replacing the
head gaskets and was wondering if you take off the serpentine belt and
rotate the crankshaft pulley, will you have problems or will i ruin my
engine when putting the serpentine belt back on. Or do i have to take off
the timing chain cover and make sure everything is lined up???
Just pay $650 to have this done:-(
i did this job and it still leaks 2 seals after why ? the seal is seated
level
can you use the sealant you recommended for the main seal.the at??? clear
formula
When removing and refitting crank bolt could the timing move ?
Scotty question how many crankshaft oil seal has a crankshaft?
Scotty ur too funny! Thanks and keep on keepin on! :)
Just thought of another question: I am not mechanically inclined. What are
good resources for someone who wants to know general information but isn’t
interested in all the nitty gritty?
Just pay $650 to have this done:-(
