Luke Howard says:

how much did the pump cost

nydefense15 says:

You do a great job on your videos, they’ve helped me ALOT. I’ve run into a
kinda weird problem. I have a 2002 Ford Excursion, 7.3 PSD. i’m just
starting the water pump removal and my Clinton shop manual says the fan
clutch nut has left hand threads, loosening would be clockwise. other sites
have stated both. Left and right threaded. which is correct? Thanks

philip sanfiorenzo says:

thanks for the vid, it helped a bunch

chris curiston says:

Good video man! I may be getting a truck like this which needs a pump and
it covers all the “gotchas” someone might usually run into without being
long and tedious. very valuable to me for sure!

beatachevy289 says:

Thanks for the video. Doing this tomorrow.

mertyleTV says:

You made taking that fan clutch off way harder than it had to be. You
could’ve left the belt ON while you took the fan clutch off.

kevjay777 says:

For me getting the fan clutch nut started back on the threads is the
hardest part. Nothing else has been a problem, but the damn nut doesn’t
want to go back on grrrrr.

Engine7601 says:

Great videos! Have you ever serviced your own A/C, I would love to see a
video of it!

dreggsta says:

why didn’t you just leave the belt on when you tried to knock the fan
clutch off? it helps lol.

needmorediesel says:

I have an OBS 7.3 PSD though so my fan is different than yours. But still
very much so a pain in the ass.

Michelle Franck says:

Hey Trey! Thanks for the video and the entertainment. My daughter and I are
changing the water pump in our ’93 F350 and we dropped a screw in the
nastiness and it was NASTY! Awesome video. If two ladies can do it, anybody
can do it with your video!

Trey Spooner says:

It’s on my list.

Michelle Franck says:

Oh! and Trey, we thoroughly disagree on one thing that you mentioned. The
fan clutch is NOT the hardest part. Getting the hoses to come off is the
hardest part. LOL

peterv56 says:

I have a 1999 7.3 with a six speed. The fan was damaged during a water pump
replacement and I never replaced it. That was 10 years ago, I pull a 12,000
pound trailer and it has never even gotten close to running hot. I am
replacing the water pump this weekend because the water outlet rotted. If I
have to belch the truck out I will just do everything at once.

Trey Spooner says:

I replaced both.

matt dirte says:

did you replace the pump or just the seal

sulphurriversnorkels says:

Great video. Tnks

Trey Spooner says:

Ya. Tried that. Didnt work. But thanks for the tip.

needmorediesel says:

That fan sure is a bitch. Took a fan wrench and a lot of hammering with a
friend of mine holding back on the pulley with a strap wrench to get it
off. If you have an air hammer you can get the removal kit that the Ford
techs use that makes it WAY easier. Is that ELC coolant you have in there?
I gotta do that to mine. I flushed my system last summer but used the Ford
green anti-freeze with the VC-8 additive. I didn’t know about ELC coolants
really at the time.

Dave Leo says:

Years ago I used to say, “give me a 350 4 bolt main”, Now it’s a 7.3. If my
eyes are correct ,I thought I saw the intercooler pipes from Banks Power.
Did I ?. I have it & it’s great. Thanks for this video, you did good.
