Honestly, I wouldn’t take your advice or let you work on my car considering you clearly don’t even know proper grammar and can’t even figure out how to use spell check. If you don’t find the video to help you, then shut up and move on. And if you are so educated in the automotive industry, why are you watching “How to” videos?

richiemfmead says:

Bro that was a good video. SHOWED disassemblh instead of telling it. Please email me where you bought your kit with the hub, hub bearing, and adapters?

ILTSYC says:

I got the hub off but had to use a puller. There is a great article on this with pics as well in the Ford focus forum. I pressed my bearings out tonight with a 50 ton press. I didn’t have the right support for it and that slowed me down but finally I came out victorious. Advanced auto wanted 44 bucks to press the bearings. No way! Right? I finally found the right metal to support the hub in the press. The outer race stayed in the hub and was a pain but finally succumbed to a punch and hammer.

ILTSYC says:

Wow! I got all the way down to pulling the hub off. I noticed yours almost fell off. The bearings in mine are so bad that the hub won’t come off.

davesgarage512 says:

I have a really annoying neighbor…. That used to be really big into the alcohol. That’s all i’m going to say about that.

FordRoadRunner says:

Ps you forgot to say undo the drop link at one end so you don’t damage it when pulling on the shock.

FordRoadRunner says:

I had to ask because right at the end of the video it looked like you was.
Couldn’t stop moving and doing something and kept pausing looking away.

FordRoadRunner says:

Do you do them up with an impact wrench as well?
Im pritty sure you said or made it sound like you did?

davesgarage512 says:

Every time I take a CV Axel off I’m usually using my impact gun. And I don’t know
know If I ever mentioned that I worked in a garage… Nope! Have a nice day!

davesgarage512 says:

No I do not believe I’m on anything. When I see comments like this they just make me laugh a whole bunch! Thanks for your comment!

FordRoadRunner says:

hes undoing the driveshaft mid air.

FordRoadRunner says:

Tools Needed.

2 Ton Jack + 2 axle stands
Socket set from 10mm to 19mm plus a 32mm socket.
Torx set T25 to T50
Power bar.
Torque wrench.
Allen Keys 6mm to 15mm.

FordRoadRunner says:

Please do not try this at home!!! You will either hurt your self or the car.

FFS using an impact wrench to undo everything not only its it lazy but its not designed for that and nor was the bolts/nuts you was using it on and in most cases you will find an impact wrench can’t undo the driveshaft nuts as there to tight and just turn the driveshaft.

FordRoadRunner says:

Sorry but are you on something?

Also i highly doubt you work in a garage, From a number of things star bit?? Its a torx bit, Using an impact wrench to undo the driveshaft nut, undoing the driveshaft nut in the air. Cant tell where a nut has had a washer clamped to it and you saying you never seen it before.

maxti6 says:

Wow. This is completely different from my 2003 Focus Wagon. I don’t see a spring or that silly arm next to it that I have to replace…which is wiggling and making noise that is concerning me, and that I was hoping to see here. This car obviously does not have those parts.

Dougie B says:

Then don’t watch it! I found it very resourceful. Thanks @davesgarage512

BobNoreen1 says:

This guy is trusting a jack to support the car – Bad Idea!!

davesgarage512 says:

I find your comment useless Have a nice day…

C.F. J says:

No step by step instructions, useless vid!

dmperfection says:

Decent vid, but for goodness sake, support those calipers with something; a rubberband, bungee, anything; just don’t leave it hanging. Thanks!

dmadhatter16 says:

The Hub can be pressed out with a good solid hammer and a socket , the outer race of the bearing can be removed by laying a bead of weld to it . When the weld cools the bearing will shink , then just tap it out of the stearing knuckle . put your new bearing in the freezer for a day before you do the job and they slide right back into the knuckle .

CrazyHHO19 says:

Hello where is wheel bearing change?

blitzkrueg07 says:

on the Eight day god created impact wrenches LOL

Jennifer Bartlett says:

I need to replace the steering knuckle, do you have to do anything with the shock, like compress it back in? and how difficult is it to remove the wheel bearing from the knuckle?

davesgarage512 says:

@FireHorse11291966 I don’t feel a 6 ton would work. I use a 20 ton.

FireHorse11291966 says:

How many ton press did you use to press that out? Store has a 6 ton press I was looking at for a good price, would this work?

daveytn says:

At some point the pads were changed and the discs were not, which is why after the discs were replaced the pad’s dont fully make contact with the new disc hence that rust patch around the centre of the disc. New pads are needed, or take the current ones off and rub them on a machined flat surface with emery paper. Sounds extreme, but you’ll have at least 99% contact with pads and discs as apposed to around 50% which is evident.

davesgarage512 says:

@turbo vsnos Nope sorry I’m not allowed to video in my shop.. So therefore I find your comment useless have a nice day…

turbo vsnos says:

blah,,blah,,blah,,,blah did not do anything with the bearing this video is ,,,,,,USELESS,,,

davesgarage512 says:

I retired that tool to scrap….. Because of that problem.

jolly614 says:

4:25 never use this tool if you’re not replacing the bottom ball joint ! it will pierce the rubber allowing dirt ingress resulting in premature failure of the ball joint. Its better to knock a chisel in the gap behind and then it will just fall out.

Bass Hunter says:

You should use some string to fasten the calliper up to prevent strain on the brake pipe and not leave it hanging down like that.

davesgarage512 says:

I don’t know. Good guess? It’s been over a year now and the person is still driving the car. So I guess it was pressed right.

Lee Seliga says:

How did you know how much preload pressure to put on the hub and bearing.

michael burt says:

I dont see why people are being dicks leavin stupid comments! I enjoy ur video`s. Great job.

Y2Drifter says:

My ZX5 2002 has rather strange problem, the center nut is getting loose after few hundred miles to the point where ABS starts coming on. If I make it too tight, the wheel makes noise, If I back off about the 1/4 turn it is fine, but does not stay there and gets loose again. It does not look like the bad bearing in the video, as the play is eliminated by tightening the nut. Thanks for showing the video, it shows clearly what is involved in this wheel assembly.
