Im not sure what a croshen is but the 94 fords did not use a navistar
engine they used the international 7.3L either the turbo or the n/a
navistar didnt come into play until 95

bergercw says:

just like a ford you always have to push them into the shop

wagner59270 says:

hey dude glad hear youre enjoying the videos, sounds to me like a bad
solenoid, shouldnt cost any more than about 20 bucks regardless of where
you get it, good luck and let me know how it works out for you

wagner59270 says:

well Im not gonna complain too much… cause in 390866 miles this one hasnt
been in the shop but 3 maybe 4 times other than oil changes and tires

mototree says:

Hi i just bought a 97 for 400 bucks and its doing the same thing the only
way i could get it to start was by bypassing the solonoid on passenger side
fender any clue whats going on thanks and do you have to order a solonoid
online and how much do they cost? i like your videos

shaunneolson says:

I just put new valve cover gaskets in my 97 I’ve had it fixed for a day now
and seems to have a a fuel problem so I’ve been driving it to see if it is
air system I pulled out of my back field got going then the engine stalls
go to crank it back up starter just goes click click click that a bad
starter cylinoid er what you think

Deron Ruben says:

@wagner59270 Thanks Dude! You just saved me a bunch of money from my local
mechanic!!! You deserve more than a “like” but unfortunately thats all that
I can give you lol

wagner59270 says:

@JohanJelsma well usually if the starter itself is bad then it will crank
really slow like you have a bad battery but if the solenoid is bat it will
either click or just spin without cranking the motor, however these
starters are sold with the solenoid so I personally would just buy a whole
new starter

wagner59270 says:

detroits are a badass motor

JohanJ says:

Hey, I enjoy the videos as well. I have a 97 power stroke and am trying to
do as much repair/maintenance myself. So how do you know whether it is a
bad starter as opposed to just the solenoid?

masoncity100 says:

what was the starter doing? i gotta van that will click, then when i bang
on the start solinoid it will start. any hints?

73PStroker says:

I have a 97 powerstroke and im trying to replace the starter, I ran into
the same situation as you did with the cocked spring on the solenoid. I
cant get the two bolts off of the starter do you have any ideas that will
help me out? thanks alot

wagner59270 says:

you fail the powerstroke was made available in 95 models… because the car
companies work in mid year cycles the 95 models are available as soon as
august in some cases but are still classified as the next model year even
though they are sold in the year prior example if you have a vehicle whose
tag on the door says build date of 10-94 chances are you have a 95 model
year the only diesel motor available for MODEL YEAR 94 fords was the IH
7.3N/A or 7.3 turbo not the navistar

chazfensk says:

I am the first one to watch your new video!

Ian Mcilwain says:

we like it lol =]

BUCKSHOTcat says:

yea my brothers 94 f350 57 navstar i hat bad croshen probloms

JD Schmidt says:

hey on my 94 ford. I put new bat terminals and a battery, alternator, and
starter a couple months ago and now when i go to start it it just click,
then clicks, then clicks and then when i try it after 3 times or so it
starts. Is that a bad solenoid. if so is it the solenoid near teh grounds

matts6887 says:

Gotta love the sound of a good ole ford powerstroke diesel!!! 😉

mauser8mm192422 says:

Nice job man

superduty73 says:

Umm wrong they made the powerstroke avaliable half way throught 1994.

wagner59270 says:

sounds like a bad solenoid to me… on the 94 fords the solenoid should be
located on the passenger side fenderwell, just follow the positive battery
lead and it should take you right to it

RochesterPropertyMgmt says:

Got a 96 F450 with that 7.3L. Love the thing! Problem with mine is a small
wire falling off the solenoid which keeps it from starting…now that I see
your genius that the whole starter doesn’t have to come off, i’ll fix it up
and keep haulin’ Thanks for the vid
