Is it possible to use this or something similar to run a small rc car?

Asinine Comment says:

Sorry, but it’s not an ‘engine’. An engine converts an energy form
(chemical, thermal) into mechanical force. This has no petrochemical or
thermal energy source. It’s more of a V12 machine, or contrivance, or
device. Really, it’s no more than a wonderfully intricate and expensive
rattle, to sit on a desk and amuse an affluent executive.
Can’t say I’ve seen a twin cam pushrod device before – miniature or
otherwise. I’m sure someone has done a mini straight 6 before, so the
novelty here is that it’s just 2 of those combined. Quite a bit of *new*
design work might’ve been required to actually put the cam in the V, much
less crafting a SOHC or DOHC device.

Sandra Rios says:

I wonder if the guy has ever thought of incorporating it into an R/C car?
That would be awesome.

Lotte Starck says:

… In my optic, it’s HANDICRAFT of high level, when mastering tools and
materials like this!

Thats an easy 550 horse power

To bad being mechanist is a dieting art. What a wonderful skill

recommend seeing this

Now make a mini NOS kit to go with it.

mosquitobight says:

that’s the cutest thing in the world

Chris Haywood says:

That is seriously one of the coolest things I have ever seen in my life.

This is the kind of guy you want to be stuck on an island with.

John Hutcheson says:

What kind of fuel mileage does that thing get?

Yadukrishna Madathil says:

This is amazing !! Must watch …..

SecularMentat says:

What are the difficulties in making this a combustion engine?

Andy Privat says:

Woow i want this video in HD !!

Damian Rivero says:

so where’s the smallest car for this?

gavin harison says:

this is incredible maching I wonder how hard it would be to replocate this

Nick Sandman says:

so is this a pushrod motor or what? cuz i see 2 cams but they arent
overhead

jerry mander says:

Brilliant, I envy your skills and patience!

The other version of this film labels it as a diesel

STU STEWART says:

Whats that run on nitro?

J.R. Beumel says:

I want one. How much for it shipped to my house, if anyone knows shoot me a
message on here or civic0412 at yahoo.com. It doesn’t even have to be
built, I will build it.

ColonelBumButt says:

I’m sick of seeing this. This is not an internal combustion engine. It runs
on compressed air. There are other *actual* miniature internal combustion
engines that are much more impressive.

volksdude1970 says:

I know everyone gets annoyed when people ask this on other videos, but what
is the name(s) of the music used? It sounds awsome!

Sounds like World War II style orchestrated music.

dicky telecaster nugroho says:

fucking genius!

Invisiblejihadi says:

If anyone’s wondering, the second song is called “Rescue” by Harry

Ahmad Atlam says:

This is brilliant !! Lots of genuinely creative solutions !!
now that I have seen this, I belive all of that can be made given enough
time and the will to do it, except one thing, seems I have missed it … I
didnt see a battery go in … and no I wasnt expecting an alternator or a
starter, I am just wondering, what did he use for spark plugs ?? where is
it and how does it achieve ignition in the cylinder ??
Examining the Square Block above the Cylinders carefully, there seems to be
an air/fuel mixture in take with one push rode, an exhaust with one push
rode, but how does the cam shaft ignite the air/fuel mixture ? There are
no push rods for that and I highly doubt there is a spark plug in that tiny
square along with every thing else … btw the radiator setup with the pump
was amazing !! wish you gave more detail about that … if its a Diesel
Engine, and there is no need for spark plugs, I would love to see how you
started it up and go that first low flash point from a cold start and then
let the ball roll

I first watched this video some time ago and, as an engineer enjoyed it for
the sheer workmanship that went into this little machine. Can I just
reiterate for those who don’t appear to understand the way it works, it is
running on compressed air, there is no fuel and, of course, no ignition
system. A major clue is the fact that the camshafts run at crankshaft
speed: the three timing gears are the same size.. In 4-stroke
combustion engines, the camshafts run at half crankshaft speed.
For the person who thought it would be good to put it in a model Spitfire,
a real scale model of a Merlin has actually been built. I saw it
demonstrated at Rolls-Royce many years ago: it had that Merlin growl in
miniature.

It’s for Hondas

marshalllhiepler says:

Can’t wait to retire, and tinker with building stuff like this in my own
workshop.
Oh yeah, …I’ll need to live another hundred years too.
Damn! Guess I’ll just have to admire Mr. Wilder’s accomplishments.
Awesome machining skills Yesus! If I ever need a precision Hip Joint
replacement, I’ll know who to contact.

Tivorlu Lawrence says:

I think this engine is fake, yeah that was nice work to fit all tiny
materials of engine to each other but when its working something weird,
there is only one pipe going trough to engine for fuel, i think this is
planned as a gasoline engine but i didn’t see any electrical system for
spark plug on it. I can accept this engine working without an oil pump as a
short life but what about sparks? I dont get it.I can see the triggering
system connected with crank but where is that current come from? He was
tested the system on the begininng of video with drill and its more
acceptable. You cannot run the V12 engine with only fuel pipe. Even its so
tiny.

Brian Smith says:

This is an absolutely AMAZING piece of work!! Was this your own design and
what is your background in machining?

The Master says:

Absolutely amazing, I am so doing this one day when I’m big and all grown
up!

Sounds better than current F1 cars even ;)

I wanna make a go cart with that

good job but if m not wrong it is no purely v 12 some strokes have similar
timing but its an outstanding job well done mr wilder :)
