@aldwinot Could be a faulty headphone jack, when you plug in the headphones
do the internal speakers stop working?
@NDanteDouglas If the headphones produce sound out of both sides I doubt
there is a problem with the jack. Sounds more like a settings or driver
issue. When you have your headphones hooked up you can go into control
panel then sound and audio then go to the audio tab and go to advanced.
Change the speaker settings.
Did it work before you took out the ram? Do any light come on? Have you
removed the battery and put it back in?
i hvae a problem i took out the ram and put it back on and its not working

@mjmcomputers I was watching another video on youtube about soldering these
jacks and he said he used superglue to help reinforce it since the solder
might not be strong enough for the jack. does this sound like a good idea?
From where did you buy the power jack?
@striker543211 Sounds like your hard drive died or ypu lost the windows
partition. Try putting in your restore CDs and see if they work. If the
hard drive is dead, you will need to replace it.
@secondlifeundergroun If you remove the battery will it run off the ac
adapter, or does it die?
@NDanteDouglas I really don’t think capacitors could cause the problem. Its
probably some small surface mount component on the sound card portion of
the motherboard or there may be a small circuit board for the headphone
jack.
It’s an ok vid completely spoilt by a rubbish camera that renders the
“Close-up” stuff completely useless as it’s all out of focus & therefore
not much use at all……..just saying.

@KakashiFrk hard to say, most likely the jack. Does the battery still hold
a good charge? Does it still burn the tips if you leave the battery out?

for “your model number” power jack
@mjmcomputers I have an Acer 5335, it has 50% battery left but it wont
charge but the charger lights up.
BUYER BEWARE: I own an Acer eMachines and an Acer Aspire notebook, neither
of which will power on, neither of which Acer will honor on the Acer

you could do with a camera that focuses!
You may have a virus, download malwarebytes anti-malware and run a scan.
Also try ccleaner to cleanup temp files.

These models look almost like the HP DV series,what a horrible build.those
had the class action law suit..these are just poorly built pc’s.when ever i
have a customer come in for repair on these i tell them to invest in a new
laptop.
