This market is crazy, Chevy is trying to limit the impact middlemen, flippers, and dealers are going to have on its brand by penalizing dealers that are marking up cars or allowing them to land in the wrong hands.

Lexus has a nice lineup of naturally aspirated V8s too

Good for Chevrolet

martinez 370z says:

Tloubih says:

This is every market atm. Shoe game, streetwear, cars, houses. Feels like the lead up to the next depression

Rich Zellmer says:

This is just GM flapping their gums. Ford is doing the same with F150 lightning. Ford came up with an online reservation where good dealers got lots of orders but the allocations are not based on who got the most early orders. Then to make things worse then Ford came with a plan where dealers can prioritize 5 orders(more if they had a lot of orders) ahead of everyone that is waiting in line which basically gave dealers a way to charge extra markup but selling the line skips.

I thought they were catching on fire already or something going by the title lol

Regret says:

Can you not with the random animated images while talking? Super distracting

Sarah Dell says:

Everything is insane right now. I can afford to buy pretty much what I want, but absolutely refuse. I’ll keep what I have till the end of time if things don’t change.

But this is America. Majority of the public is leveraged beyond belief. Repos will be in the future.

Evelyn baldwin says:

despite the economic crisis i still think this is a right time to start up an investment

Devon Regan says:

This is where the new car companies have figured things out. Oddly enough remember Saturn tried to do this? But look at Tesla, Lucid, Rivian etc, they all have transparent pricing. It is what it is. The idea of the dance around negotiation is dumb, price it appropriately and just sell it.

Richard Anthony says:

As usual… GM is making a move that can only hurt the brand. I have so many friends who who cancelled their alocations, because the ECU is locked. On of my buddies has the Z06 reserved… and is quickly loosing interest…. they wanna make that resell market tank…. stop limited productions. It's as easy. You want one. No problem. Made per order. As should every car maker do. There's no need to have 10k civics in a lot same spec because they will sell eventually. This thing of having it as soon as it's available is hurting the market, and hurt the industry.

Hugh Mongusballs says:

props to chevy for doing this!!!

Snake Boy290 says:

The dealerships will just sue the manufacturer becuse this rule is never enforced. The manufacturer can't be selective on which dealer to enforce this rule on.

Benjamin Carlin says:

Why are Spaghetti's videos always so quiet?

Anything399 says:

This channel hasn’t been the same since we watched his “racecar” go up in flames 6 times in one video.

David Chinea says:

Car manufacturers should just start selling directly to the consumers!!! Remove dealerships and their games and just sell direct. Just like everything else in the world let’s make an app for that.

Si Raff says:

Even better would be if all the makers got together and said if any of them catch people out they all drop the allocations. People might not be bothered if its their only Lambo or their only Chevy but if they knew they wouldn't be getting their grubby little hands on anything likely to ve worth a mark up later on it would make them think long and hard about it.
The world doesn't need middle men. They are just parasites to the rest of us.

Bob808 says:

And dealers wonder why people despise them! LOL Once the automakers find a way around existing legislature, vehicle sales will go online, and dealerships will drop like flies! Any remaining dealers will become delivery and service centres, likely owned by the automaker.

Chris Bouchard says:

Didn't Chrysler do something similar with the hellcat because markup was like 80% or something crazy?

Jeroen says:

Car still looks like a toy car though.

dpo33 says:

ford pulled this move a few weeks back with a big internal level. I havent seen this info come down from FCA at the dealership I work for yet.

Jay Marquez says:

I hope GM sticks with this! And other manufacturers follow!

Been trying to get a Honda Civic type r, Is been a pain dealing with this dealers.

Tech Defender says:

Good I'm glad they are doing this. I wish all manufacturers would do this with all dealers who are doing these mark ups

QuietStormX says:

There has been others reporting on this. I this GM is serious about this and reports of dealers jacking up prices over sticker for huge profits… And they know who they are too. it will be reports when this happens to dealers and loose orders… And other get them.
