One common problem for many Ferrari owners is that they need to keep their cars on a battery tender due to parasitic losses. I’ve already helped multiple owners deal with dead batteries, trying to charge or worse yet, jump start their cars. You really need to be careful when jump starting a Ferrari as you can accidentally fry an ECU and then you’re looking at massive repair bills!

Antigravity Batteries sent me one of their H6 Group 48 Lithium Ion batteries to put into the Ferrari 458. It fits perfectly using the factory mounts and connections, but the Antigravity Battery is 30LBS lighter, has 1500CCA vs 900CCA, but best of all it has the restart feature which allows you to “jump start” your car if the battery starts to sense it’s getting low.

Basically this means, when the battery senses the power getting low, it shuts itself off. You then can use a remote control or the button on the battery to turn on the restart feature, which turns back on the battery and gives you more than enough power to start your car! This means, NO MORE BATTERY TENDER! No more getting stuck with a dead battery! Absolutely amazing.

neil dale says:

silly question what happens to previously posted comments that cannot be seen now ?

Sebastian Danicska says:

You know what would be cool? If you could disconnect the battery with the remote and use it as an anti-theft kill-switch. Food for thought to the manufacturers…

J S says:

I have a code popping up in my 458 (Engine control system failure) and I am thinking it may have something to do with the voltage. I was in the process of purchasing the Braille I48CS Lithium Ion Battery which prices in at about $2,500. Have you done any comparisons with the Braille to the Antigravity ? Also have you seen this code on your 458 ?

NDPesic Group says:

Second time watching this episode !! Great job !! Great product !! Hey, if Loeper or Richard decide to get them, do a video on their installs, I bet it'd be fun !!

David Jeffries says:

why don't you build a small box attached to the frame under it, or some other part you don't mind screwing 2 holes into, that way you can turn it back on without getting in

Robert D. says:

So, don't buy a crappy piece of crap…check. I keep my LS2 GTO sitting a lot, those are known for large parasitic losses, this will come in very handy!

George F says:

$850 for a battery. No thanks. If it was $400 I would bite.

RantChant 316 says:

I wrote them to see if this will work for my Lexus and my flux capacitor

Gibbo205 says:

Had their RS30 battery, was truly incredible bit of kit and only weighed in at 7lbs and was good enough to power my F-Type SVR, their batteries are truly fantastic. Only reason RS30 is not in my 458 is because it was too tall! However I shall be getting one of these because at 16lbs it is vastly lighter and superior battery to the stock Ferrari unit.

KSL12 says:

Very interesting.

Edgardo Ramirez says:

Dan this battery is insane and you just solved a terrible problem I have with all my cars. My 458 is due for a new battery and this is what I am getting. I think I am going to be as excited as you are. This is a great hook up. Thank you.

dean miller says:

That will be my next battery!

RocketLife954 says:

Having the key in the run position without it actually running is not good for the car….comp, fuel pump, alternator, etc

Fred Daniali says:

Dan, do you positively, absolutely recommend this battery? Because if you do, I am going to buy it! I was going to buy the Braille, but I would much rather buy this one because I trust your judgement.

MechE184 says:

If battery shuts off….wont you have to readapt the car as if you disconnected the battery?

MechE184 says:

The Cayenne has the feature of anti drain built in….its a nice feature

kelticdom says:

as appealing as this is, it it still way too expensive to justify the cost. I can go through 6 batteries in 10 years for my 2 cars for the price of one of these. and carry one of those little booster packs

boardelia says:

Hey man, I am a new subscriber and I really like your channel.

I have a couple of question for you concerning Ferrari's.
Do you actually own the cars or do you lease then for few years ? I was wondering since I saw you went from the 430 to the 458.
Second question, If you buy them, you buy them with how many miles aprox.
and at what budget ? From an individual or a luxury garage dealer ?

Thanks and keep doing your very informative videos on Ferrari repairs !
If I can make a suggestion it would be useful to detail the repair procedure, show us, hot to, talk about the time it takes and the cost or every piece you replace.

FTLAUD 911 says:

Cool battery. I like the battery status, but it will draw power making it lose power even faster. Cool gadget though. I just use my tenders and batteries will last 3-4yrs. Eventually this technology will become common place when OEM's start using it. At that time prices will drop, but will still be over $500-600 since an OEM battery is expensive as is. Great review to let us know how it works.
