guess I need to buy a welder

rusco321 says:

Are you using a flux core wire or solid? Do you disconnect the battery
before welding?

m ph says:

Nice work. I never had any success welding a nut on like you had. They
usually spin off, prob the flux core mig I have. I booger weld on them
building them out and use a irwin bolt extractor on them.

Excellent video!

Jeff Wiebe says:

Great video. I’ve done this many times. When the bolt is recessed welding a
washer on first works good. I find it hard to get the weld to penetrate to
the stud through a nut, especially welding in tight places.

Dan.vaku says:

Typical Chrysler. A 2010 model that already has leaking hose crimps, shocks
blown?, studs breaking after having a history of this happening for years
on the V8 engines. How many miles are on this thing?

Satisfying repair though, when things get executed according to plan.

I’m just a weekend mechanic and never thought of using a technique like
that. Great idea. Thanks for posting.
