Thanks for taking the time to record and post this video, it was very helpful!

Good job, great to hear!

Well i took the door apart and found that one of the clamps had fallen off the window while the other one was half on. I reattached the clamps and put the door back together. The window goes up and down just great. Thanks for posting this video, it made the job that much easier.

Comrick317 says:

Thank you sir for posting this, it’s very helpful. I’m going to start tearing the door apart right now and hope for the best.

Thanks for the info 6speed. I’ve got a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan drivers side window that won’t work. Passenger window works fine. So this gives me idea of where to start and what to look for. Thanks again .

6speeddakota says:

Pull the door panel off, reconnect the switch, and disconnect the window motor connector, using a voltmeter or test light, determine if you have power to the motor. If so, unbolt the motor from the regulator, plug it back in, and try running it. If the motor runs, then the regulator or the window is jammed, if not, the motor is bad. Also, look at the cables when you try to operate the window and see if they move at all. Gather evidence before making a conclusion about a bad part

Great video! Thanks for taking the time to make and share it. Now I should be able to take the driver side door apart on my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan to troubleshoot and repair my window problem. The window switch causes a click inside the door (like a relay sound) but there is no window motion. Do you think my issue is a bad motor, regulator, or something jammed?

6speeddakota says:

The window should be about halfway down in order to install or remove the clips, it’s impossible to remove or install them with the window up. As for the motor not going down, the window should naturally sit in the track, the window would be on a weird angle and wouldn’t look normal if it was out of the track. It would be very obvious

Mario Torres says:

What if the tabs to put the window pins is in the top positon can I use the motor to get them in a position so that its easer to connect the windows and clips

I tried it and the motor did not go down maybe I have the window off the track

6speeddakota says:

I’m guessing that’s only on T&C’s because I didn’t have any grommets on this one. So solid mounting the motor would work as well, all you are doing is just securing the motor to the door, so it doesn’t flop around. Using some rubber washers will reduce vibrations from the motor to the door, your idea would work as well.

I’m sorry I can’t be of more help, this vehicle didn’t have a grommet on it

Klaus Weiland says:

Yeah!!!! How on earth does one get them off without destroying the grommet, I went to a ‘Pull Apart” Junkyard got the whole assembly but the only way to get the motor out was to destroy the grommet which leaves a grooved brass ring on the bolt…..wtf? Guess I’ll just screw the brass remnants tight up against the motor and find a nut and rubber washer that fits……any other ideas?

Mark Quinnelly says:

6SD, great video! After watching I had the knowledge to remove the existing regulator and I will install the new regulator when it arrives. One item to note for others on the 2002 Chrysler T&C, the 3 bolt on the motor are torque bolt and screwed into noise reducing grommit that include threads and are impossible to hold while you unscrew them for motor removal. Wish me luck on rail and motor installation later this week!

6speeddakota says:

Make sure the motor is facing the correct direction, the motor should be against the door and the cable reel assembly should stick outward.

also make sure that the motor points downward like it does in my video.

Try compare your parts, if they are different, you likely have the wrong part. You can try put the old motor on the new regulator if you want to make it work

LegitimateAssassin says:

I did the same thing but I;m having problem putting the door panel back. The new motor is a little larger than the old one. I see that you have the same new motor but was able to close it. How were you able to close it? Thanks
