KURONAMI9 says:

Now I have more intel on how to change my fuel pump, but the only problem is
that I don’t have a hydraulic lifter to pick my truck up(2003 dodge ram
2500,5.7L). What other measure can I take to replace my fuel pump in a safe
way. I was planing on removing the whole bed to get access to my tank, But
As I saw in your video I need to clean my tank, now is it really necessary
to clean the tank?. Reason I’m changing the fuel pump is because my Fuel
Pressure is 50 psi, idle or accelerating. Help?

Hello Joanne: If you have the pump still mounted on the engine you will
need to refer to the video for the E7153 (1998-02) or the E7230 (2002-04)
depending on the year for instruction on replacing the on engine lift pump.

AirtexFuelPumps says:

The safest/easiest way is to use a floor jack to hold the tank & lower it.
You can remove the bed to access the fuel pump. After removing the pump,
inspect the inside of the fuel tank & the fuel strainer. If there’s any
contaminants, drain the rest of the fuel & remove the tank so you can
properly clean it. The most common cause of failure is contamination in the
fuel tank. If there is any contamination in the tank, the life of the pump
will be considerably shortened. Hope this helps. Thanks!
