voltage regulator that I use the most and trust… https://amzn.to/2OaH2G1
How to wire up a External Voltage Regulator on a dodge voltage regulator issue. 12v Cummins. Customer complain of the voltage gauge spiking and lights acting strange.I found the alternator was over charging. The PCM / computer is bad and we have to mount a external voltage regulator to control the alternator output.
I just put a High Output Alternator from Autotech Engineering in my Dodge Caliber and it was charging at 14.7 to 14.9v for a couple weeks. Suddenly it was 13.8 at idle and 14.5 on freeway. Then when I got home it was back to 14.9 at idle. However, it will flash 13v and even 12v sometimes for just a second. The battery light is on and it is supposed to have a voltage regulator inside the alternator. I also had a guy run 1/0 ga big 3. There is also a wire going into the fuse box, however. Do I need an external voltage regulator if it's built into alt? I think this high voltage is destroying my battery too.
Can that box be used in a 2005 Dodge Neon? Or would I need a different one? And how would look it up?
when using the fuse buddy, does it matter if the wire going into it is 12 gauge while the fuse tap wire is 16 gauge?
how does it charge the battery of you take the harness off, your regulating voltage but only for the alternator and thats it
Ok someone please help! Hooked this thing up just like the video blew out a regulator in one day. Second regulator hooked up check all my grounds sanded fender to clean metal where regulator is attached worked for one hour. Shut off truck. Next morning not working no charge. Ran a ground straight from battery to the regulator housing and one straight to the alternator housing. Still doesn't charge. About to install the 3rd regulator. What is going wrong? Do the 2 wires in the factory harness need to be cut to make this work right? Was trying to avoid cutting them so they would be there when I fix the pcm eventually.
Hey there got a 97 12 valve installed the voltage regualtor I got a reading on a multi meter that it was charging but not at 14 volts and I touched the regulator and it was hot AF! I got green to bottom post blue to top 12v keyed off a cigarette lighter fuse. Whats going on?
Mine wasnt charging so i swapped the 2 wires and then it was charging at 18v
I have a 2020 Chrysler 300 trying to add a 330 amp mechman alt but voltage drops below 13 with no load.
I couldn’t get any voltage regulator to work on my 2011 town and country
Can you make a video if your adding a external regulator to a secondary alternator that's only for audio!
Those two green wires need a load resistor wired across them otherwise your computer thinks nothing is working and puts your voltmeter on high and check engine light continuously on.
I thought the 12 valves didn’t have a computer?
I did mine and got check engine light
