When pushing down on the lower a-arm @5:30, if you cant get the strut onto
the a-arm, dont force it or you might pop the cv boot (closest to the diff)
off. Happened to my friends truck, so what we did on the other side was
loosen the half shaft nut off to relieve the stress off the cv shaft.
The bottom strut bolt? @3:21 with a 1/2″ impact gun. You should be able to
get it pretty easily with a long 1/2″ ratchet or breaker bar though, and if
that fails, add a cheater pipe on to the handle.
Save your money and go with HBS(Hell Bent Steel) I just installed the 2.5″
on my 13′ hemi 1500 and it looks fucking gnarly, almost perfect level.
Gonna be getting the tires installed soon enough, will put up a video of
what it looks like in a while.
I actually got a billet one from Summit Engineering through their Ebay
sale. Non-pressed in studs, all necessary hardware and instructions. Only
paid $46 w/free shipping. I think this video was perfect. Everything went
exactly as shown. Front tires are slightly bowed in, so an alignment is in
order in a day or two. No shudder or noises, and no steering pull.
Not sure if it’s any different on 2wd, if it’s a “strut spacer kit” then it
should be the exact same only you won’t have a CV joint int your way, but
if you feel uncomfortable doing it i’m sure there’s some local 4X4 shops
that could install it for you. If you’re mechanically inclined and have the
tools that i mention and follow the steps you should have no issues.
In general, any kind of strut spacer leveling kit will be the same concept,
some may be bigger or smaller and some may be made out of different
materials, but they install the same.
I’m guessing the Chevy had torsion keys, those seem to be a hit or miss,
tried 2 sets on my ’03 ram and they were same indexing as stock, had to
spend like $250 and get the suspension max adjustable keys but the Daystar
spacers for sure lifted the front.
No, i’ve only floored it in 4×4 on dry pavement like twice for races but
the 4×4 is not meant for dry pavement as it is. Most of the time i have it
in 4×4 it’s snowing pretty good but no shuttering to speak of. I still have
a 1″ rake.
You mean is the truck physically safe? Yes, it doesn’t weaken anything just
pushes your A-arms closer to the ground giving the truck “lift”. Bigger
tires and bigger lifts will just put more strain on your ball joints, it is
still safe, they just wear out faster. If you are wondering if 34’s will
fit – yes up to 35″ tires, but anything over a 295 will probably rub and
might need wheel spacers, which again will put more stress on ball joints.
Sorry just seen this comment. Havn’t run 35’s on mine but they would fit.
If they are 12.5 inch wide you will need spacers though, they will rub on
something
I can’t imagine why you’d need to floor it on dry pavement in 4wd but i’ve
done a few races in 4wd just to reduce tire spin and didn’t notice any
vibrations, this is a 2″, if you go more so the vehicle is perfectly level
or even higher in the front it’s possible you might run into that. With my
2″ level and my bags in the rear i still have a 1.5″ rake and no issues
how much would this installation differ for a 2WD model? If your
inexperienced in this type of work would you recommend taking it somewhere
to be done as opposed to trying to do it yourself?
i have 2011 ram 1500 with a pro comp 2.5 levelling kit in the front 1.5 in
the rear and has had a shudder under heavy acceleration since installed
anyone know if there is a fix for it
When I did my lift they only made 3/4″ rear spacers so if you want a more
leveled look and do the rear spacers, you’ll need 2.5″ up front.
Do you have any spacers in the rear springs or just the front? Debating
between 2 or 2.5 inch.

how the fuck did u get the bottom shock bolt off

No problem! Glad to help.

YES you do, otherwise you will have uneven and rapid tire wear and will
also put more strain on steering components.
So I just put a kit on my ram and it seems like the front tires are bowed in
My hellbent was 81.00 shipped
the sway bar??
Do u have to align it after
But it’s metal, right?

great video will help alot of people
is that the same procedure for an 07 dodge 1500?
nope
nice vid man. looks easier workn on a newer truck when everything aint all
rusted out and shitty

Could you not just compress the strut assembly? I’m just wondering because
I just ordered a set for my Ram
Heat the nut and put a pry bar on the upper control arm and push down on
the ball joint

Bought one for my jeep liberty hope its not to hard
thanks for the torque specs. very helpful video
“Fucking pussy” lol there is always that one guy.
Lol are u listening to xm radio 50’s on 5.

No it was a 2wd with coil springs. The spacer just fit right on top of the
spring. No bolt on or nothing
have you had any issues with the coil slipping out of the pocket and
rubbing againsgt
yeah….the bar that goes from left lower A arm to right lower A arm and is
connected with end links.
dose this work for any brand of leveling kit>?
