I had them done by the dealer at 100,000 miles. I was having the hydraulic
clutch replaced and I knew the service dude so he gave me a super deal. I
did the ones on my girlfriend’s GMC Envoy and it was a hassle but I think
the key was in using a long extension and a universal joint. Thanks, Greg
Did you need to compress the coils at all with a coil compressor tool? I’ve
got a 2008 RAM 1500, and I’m a little skeptical because the service manual
shows some additional steps that you do not. Just thought I’d ask before I
jumped into this job.
Good comments! I did fix the coupler on the air line, was driving me
nuts… My truck is so scratched up already, mostly due to the sand and
rock they use instead of salt during snowstorms in CO. They now have moved
to mag chloride but that isn’t real good for the paint either. Magnet bowls
are on the list! Steel toes are a good idea too! Thanks, Greg
The air tools do help… This isn’t that bad of a job on its own. I think
the biggest thing air tools help in is taking off the rims. I saw a Ridgid
cordless ratchet at home depot that looked interesting, says it delivers
215 inch pounds of torque so that would be about 18ft-lb, which would be
enough for most things minus the actual tightening. Thanks, Greg
Fix your couplers on your air line that would drive me nuts!!!!! Invest in
a snap on fender cloth gaurd so you don’t scratch truck… buy some magnet
bowls to put bolts in. Good vid otherwise..buy rollong cart…lol sockets
on ground. And put your steel toes on mr saftey..
I wish I had Air tools I know it would make it easy
Can you do a video on how to change spark plugs
C.mon Greg use hand tools.. dont be lazy
I tell ya, the air tools cut about 70% out of the time you spend working on
the cars… Thanks, Greg
