Teaching My Brother How To Fix His Own Oil Cooler (Common Chrysler 200 Oil Leak Problem) #pentastar

Hey Good People,

In this video I am teaching my big brother how to do is own oil cooler replacement. As some of you may know, this is a common issue on the Dodge & Chrysler Products with the 3.6 Pentastar engines.
This is not a tutorial but you may still learn some tips along the way. The official tutorial can be found here: https://youtu.be/IPMoe875Ghw

This was a fun video I got to make with my big brother. And if he can do it, you can definitely do it!
Was I a good teacher? Let me know in the comments below.

Just got home from the Mechanic, My Chrysler 200 started leaking oil, and what "Looked" like gas on the wet ground, Anyhow; It turns out to be my Oil Cooler…I was just Quoted 985.00 Canadian. Sooooo…Me being who I am, I thought to myself….let's have a look see online….Which brings me here. I am Mechaically inclined, But never had a "Oil Cooler" issue, never mind tryig to replace one. This Video just gave me 100% confidence I can do it on my own, Now that you ""Mr.Alex"" has showed me the way…..I'm a first time viewer, and NOT a last. Thank you my Brother "from another mother" Great job,well done, and your actual real brother gets a big thumbs up as well. Some say….A teacher is only as good as his student. I need to see how much the Oil Cooler is now, and see If I can't get a little grease under a nail. Thanks….Love from Canada.

Why does your bro have a Chrysler when you preach against it

@twincitydezray says:

If I put some RTV around the gaskets that sit under the oil cooler would that work?

@Antman94b says:

Where can I find that tool with the green light?

Thank you so much for this video, in process of changing the oil cooler on my 2015 Chrysler 200 right now. I'm a pretty decent mechanic (not a professional mechanic!), but I am always fearful of breaking one of the many different connectors on modern engines (so many different types!). It was super helpful to watch your very clear, detailed video to make sure I was pulling or pushing the correct way on all the connectors. I also really enjoyed watching you teach your brother; it seemed like he was enjoying it and it was very nice of you to take the time with him! Thanks again!

Hey Alex. I replaced my oil cooler and oil pressure sensor. When I put everything back on my car runs really rough and sounds like something is popping. Even seen a little smoke. Do you know what this issue could be?

Mr Alex, My wife has a 2017 Pacifica. With 3.6, we are losing coolant, no leak is showing, not overheating, engine holds pressure. I did notice oil down by filter canister. Could it possibly be burning coolant off also?

Thank You for the help troubleshooting my 2015 Chrysler 200c 3.6L engine. At just 61,000 miles the OEM oil cooler housing started leaking oil due to failed rubber seal rings that reside between the oil cooler housing and the top of engine block. I replaced the plastic-ish OEM oil cooler housing with an aluminum housing and the oil cooler that sits on top of it. All required replacement rubber seals came with the oil cooler, including the seals for the upper and lower intake manifolds. $120.00 on Amazon, made in china, was complete out of the box, a clean, solid unit. No More Oil Leak. Thanks again!

Just finished changing my oil cooler and it was a breeze using this video as a tutorial! Hardest part was loosing the oil drain plug from the shop that tightened it way to tight last oil change. Thanks again for the great video!

@mvzante says:

Thank You!! I need to do this and this video greatly increased my confidence in doing this myself!
