Here’s a question… if you remove the radio (as they did in this install), is there a way of getting FM radio via the ipad? Has anyone made a radio receiver which connects via wifi or something and can be controlled via an app on the ipad?

Fat lot of good that does you when you’re on a 13 hour road trip and you don’t have a charger in the dock… Guess you’ll have to pull it down and set it in the passenger seat while it charges off the cig lighter.

should have used an android tablet with wireless charging, can customize the ui for in vehicle use much easier on android and it would start charging the second you docked it and would still be just as easy to remove and replace.

Yeah it would be a nice implementation but it would be a extra wire or two to run. It would generate heat also on the ipad and the charger.
I did watch the video you fucker The idea is super cool but you have to disconnect it to charge it? In my opinion I think there needs to be a way to charge it while it is on the float mount!

You guys should do nexus 7 (2013) install. super fluid, slick looking, Higher resolution, more portable, qi wireless charging, NFC enabled, built in GPS even in WiFi models, and cheaper. LTE 32gb nexus 7 costs only $20 more than the 16gb WiFi iPad mini… Also its nice to have an android alternative.
You should put one of those induction charging pads on the back so you can charge the ipad at the same time
