Is it possible just to replace the plastic housing piece that is on the back end of the mirror assembly? On our Pacifica, the mirror assembly has a back plastic piece that actually comes off from the entire mirror assy. Would like to just to replace that one piece instead of the whole mirror assy and door panels.
CAUTION!!! If you do purchase a mirror glass only be sure it has the snap in Plastic Backing for the vehicle you are replacing the mirror glass on. Trying to remove old glass from plastic backings is tedious and generally if you have not done it many times before I suggest keeping away from that type installation.
Mirros glass with the plastic backing on it is easy to install, it simply snaps in place and no mirror removal is required.

is posible to replace just the mirror without remove the housin of the mirror?
The issue is if something happens while you are replacing the mirror and the door panel slips, it will put a lot of stress on the wires so it would make things a lot safer just removing them so nothing can happen.
This may be a stupid question, but why would you disconnect all of the wiring harnesses when the work you’re doing isn’t even in that area? I’m not a ‘car person’, but it seems like you could just leave everything connected, and support it with something else while you do the mirror replacement.
