piece to fix it ., if any one could help I’d appreciate it.!!

on google and place a complaint. If we get enough people to report it they
will force daimler-chrysler dodge jeep to recall this defective part.
1. The NHTSA (National Highway Transportation Safety Administration) knows
about this issue. It is very common for Chargers, 300, Magnums. This is the
organization that issues federal recalls. 2. Chrysler issued a “silent”
recall of vehicles with certain VINs made during June 2007 – September
2007. My car did not fall into this 4 month window. 3. You can call the
NHTSA and file complaint (1-888-327-4236) 4. PDF of recall
chrysler.com/webselfservice/pdf/K39.pdf
I encountered the same problem with my dodge. What I did to fix it I used
that wire that comes up 40 secs into the video and if you take a close look
at the pink plastic there is a little wedge where it looks like the wire
goes in to. just place the tip of wire into that and it will shift out of
park.

lot of money!!! I did exactly as you instructed and it worked. Please
note… when I broke the end of the shift park mechanism it fell into gear
box and preventer from shifting into reverse and park, I could only shift
into drive and neutral. My first thought I should not have broken the end
off as instructed. After painfully trying to remove the broken piece, I got
it out and it now SHIFTS INTO ALL GEARS successfully!
That just happened to me after working 13 hour shift. It took me no more
than 10 minutes to fix thank you very much as I would not been able to get
home right away If it wasn’t up for this video and for my mechanic @ seven

Hey does anyone know when you put it back together and for some reason it
is giving me the same problem when the white part with the cord doesn’t
work. I put the key in and when I brake it don’t go into drive unless I
hold the side pink thingy on the right. I don’t know why but maybe I have
to take apart again but I think its the white piece at the top that hooks
in to the replacement part once everything is almost done

Just a FYI… PURPOSE OF A “SHIFT PARK LOCK MECHANISM” Posters
RESPONSES……. you don’t have to buy anything to fix this issue. Simply
remove the pink thingy and the spring and replace it with nothing! I did
this last winter and it works fine. only difference is that now I can
remove the key without putting the shifter in park (who cares?!); but still
have to apply the brakes to shift out of park and I still have to turn the
key off before it will come out.
This issue was recalled under notification K16 and you can go to
chrysler.com and search recall and type in the last 8 digits of your Vin.
This will not cost you anything to get fixed. Also if you have a smart
phone or printer try to have the paper work or notice on your phone just in
case they try to get over on you. Now if you paid Chrysler will reimburse
you your money back.

them clowns quoted me $468 out the door! I had a Hammer, and a Flat Head
that was FREE.99 and knocked the pink thang out like you said, right on,
problem solved!!!!! Money saved! People say DONT TAKE THE HAMMER TO IT!!!
