OMG what a f***n nightmare!!!

RIVERSOFTHEHIDDENFNK says:

I almost hung myself from the barn rafters after attempting this job at
home.

bradley4849 says:

Hey bro I have a 2002 Chrysler concorde 2.7 it over heated Friday and its
making a loud noise from the engine is it my water pump or do you need more
info. It will blow hot air when it heats up it spits the anti freeze from
the over flow and it won’t go a mile without over heating but the air still
works

GRACFUL1 says:

All Chryslers or designed by dope addicts, and you will chry, when it is
time to do repairs, on any chrysler.

rick stevens says:

you have a blown head gasket and water pump failure. you have to replace
water pump and head gasket.

dewan247 says:

do you really haev to do all of this…. I waS ABOUT TO replace a waterpump
but now I’m reconsidering at least for the amount I was gonna do it
definitely. whats a good estimate of time taken to do this.

92sonoma says:

did one of these water pumps before on a 2001 intrepid 2.7, didnt tear it
down that much though, been working on cars for 20+ years, found my own
ways. still a pain in the ass. that was back in 2009 and the car is still
going. definatly not a job for the inexperienced tho.

Benjerman Kulandaisamy says:

hi my 1999 intrepid water pump is new but it my car leaks how do i stop it
???

nakternal says:

An epic deign failure. All that just to replace a water pump.

sluggosloan says:

Hi. My Intrepid is not drivable. It will start but it runs rough I have the
white exhaust pouring out the back. Is changing the water pump in flushing
the motor still a possible remedy? I don’t want to have to buy a new more
unless I have no alternative. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated
thank you.

DKaNTr says:

I’ll just let my engine burn after this much work.

Wadley225 says:

Your voice just drones on and on and on… I could not watch this video
because of you, I had to skip through it.

MrCousinvinny says:

Your video was very informative. Whats the usual cost to have this done. I
have a 2000 Concord with 78k on it. I love the car but I want to ward off
any problems the car may have so depending on the cost I may do this myself
soon as the weather gets a little warmer. The other question I have is
setting up the timing chain. Would it be a good idea to change the chain
and the guide since I will have it apart? Is running Marvel Mystery oil a
good idea to use before I tear it down?

TheMoneyy92 says:

How do u remove the puller from the car.

GUS CASTRO says:

Hope u can help timming chain is the problem maybe has 1 or 2 skips.how do
you set the timming marks in this case.I know the cranck part but the cams
have to be on the 90 degree from the head surface, also my new time chain
does not have those paint marks no not china made, TAIWAN,any info is
welcome thnk u

ladefreakndah says:

Anyone that bought a chrysler or any car off the lot without popping the
hood and seeing the complete and utter clusterfuck under the hood should be
dragged out into the street and shot. I stopped buying or recommending any
cars to anyone with a v6 because GM stopped making H platforms with the
3800. Just stay the hell away from v6’s. There is no justification to have
a daily driver with a v6 anymore. Four cylinders make more than enough
power for a daily commuter and wont rape your wallet.

rick stevens says:

Any engine that uses internal water pump powered by timing belt or chain is
crapola!! The most frequent part that fails is the water pump so buy a car
that has the water pump spun by serpetine belt.

cacol11 says:

NICE VID BRO…what.s up with that ratle noise after fixing the timing and
putting everything back up? why? what do i need to do? THANKS!!

Douglas Dixon says:

You can get EVERYTHING on e-bay- chains (all three) gears, guides, pins,
water pump, all gaskets, and more…EVERYTHING…for about $138.00

James Mcneil says:

139000 on my 03 and this video has given me the decision to muck the whole
car. Too much effort to be worth it not to mention the timing chains set is
550$+ if the guides are worn. New valve cover gaskets, timing cover and
such. No thanks. Good vid thou. Thanks.

rgssr says:

@Rtoking2000 those are alittle more easier to get to down towards the
bottom front of the motor……iirc next to the alternator…..you will
have 3 10mm bolts that hold the thermostat housing to the engine block.

Charlie Atkins says:

Good informative video but, he forgot to mention that the inner guides
(small guides) have to be removed and then the water pump can be removed.

MrTrekkerDan says:

OK, got it. Never buy an Intrepid.

ladefreakndah says:

Unless it is a Chrysler 4 cylinder with a timing belt. Then it will rape
your wallet. Esp if it is in a PT Cruiser.

blinkfan305 says:

My water pump went at around 69,000 miles. Awful placement for a water
pump, it cost a ton of money to have a new one put in. You have to remove
almost everything on the front end just to get at it, as you can see.

Mark Stablein says:

Thank you so much! Very clear and informative.

Gray Simmons says:

I’m looking for information on cam marking aligment on 2002 Chrysler
Concorde LX 2.7, can you help with this?

thehitz420 says:

Sell that chrysler junk

wisprworld says:

Any idea where the evaporator housing drain pipe is and how too get too it.
From outside or inside and how. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yasin Ozcelik says:

Remove headlights to change water pump? Interesting engineering. I guess
Chrysler has already passed German overengineering.

ripurdead3 says:

Hey thanks for this vid. Me and my grandpa couldn’t have done it without
this video.

errolfan says:

I love American metrics. Thirteen millimeter, 15 millimeter, etc. Truly
oddball.

rgssr says:

@Tinkerman1001 it’s more of a hobby…..i usally buy about 14 to 15 of
these cars in a year and rebuild them and then sell them

Tinkerman1001 says:

Great job on video? You must like working on Chrysler cars. Is this a hobby
or business?

Douglas Dixon says:

Three jaw puller from Harbor Freight about $12.00.

Rachel Day says:

Just wanted to say Thank you very much, I watched this video probably 10
times before taking on a water pump install on an 04 intrepid. In my case,
the actual water pump was ok, but it was the gasket behind the water pump
that had failed. I replaced water pump and gasket. Just a rough guess, but
I probably had close to 12 hours invested in the job, but I am the type
that triple checks everything, ESPECIALLY timing components, and clean
clean clean. Again thank you for taking the time to upload.

Rtoking2000 says:

what about replacing the thermostat housing on a 2.7l dohc 05 stratus fwd???

rgssr says:

the book calls for 9 hours…..if i have everything need i can do the job
in roughly 5 1/2 to 6 hours.

Steven Pollard says:

Good Job I have to fix my 2003 Chrysler Sebring the Mec I brought it to put
a crank in and set the timing to 50 BTDC and it should be 60 BTDC after
waiting 2 month for him make good and fix his mis I pull it out and it’s in
my garage now I was Chrysler Mec back in the 80’s question how do you set
it wrong it looks like if you set all the marks your good to go? using a
video scope it looks like they bent the intake valves and only on the front
head ? the pistons look good •
